The Rosh Chodesh Society (RCS), a women’s-only JLI offshoot, presents seven monthly classes focused on the holidays of the year and their centrality to the Jewish women’s experience. Since its inception in 2009, women in 150 cities have gathered in their individual communities to study this global course.
And now it’s happening in Crown Heights, at the Beis Medrash Women’s Circle!
Mrs. Shaindy Jacobson, who heads RCS internationally, approached the Women’s Circle with an exclusive honor: to present the curriculum to women in her community in memory of her brother, Rabbi Shaya Gansburg a”h, a beloved educator and director of the California Traveling Shluchos Program. What better venue, she determined, than the Women’s Circle, where a gathering of approximately 25 women occurs each Wednesday for Torah study and conviviality?
The first class, “The Enlightened Macabee” took place this Wednesday morning at 9:30. Student handbooks and a beautiful Powerpoint presentation (that worked! a Chanukah miracle!) accompanied her lecture. Over 50 women enjoyed a lavish breakfast buffet sponsored by Mrs. Nechamy Rabin, Mrs. Chana Baila Schwartz, Chaya Dalia, and Chavi Geisinsky.
Mrs. Jacobson will present the Rosh Chodesh Society course each month, during the regular Caffeine for the Soul time-slot. See schedule here.)
To sponsor breakfast for an upcoming RCS class or for questions/comments please contact Chanel Lipskier 718 778 6712 or Dvora Lakein 347-225-6812 or email [email protected].
