Mrs. Sheina Chaya Lieberman, a dedicated Shlucha of the Rebbe for over 35 years who guided and educated young and old, has passed away on Wednesday, 14 Tishrei 5774.
She was 59 and passed away while undergoing surgery.
Her sudden passing on the eve of the holiday of Sukkos has shocked many in the Jewish community in Greater Fort Lauderdale and Miami area, where she has served dutifully.
As the first Shluchim to Fort Lauderdale, she and her respected husband Rabbi Aron Lieberman have impacted the lives of many Jews, leading them to the path of Torah and Mitzvos.
In their center, Synagogue of Inverrary – Chabad in Lauderhill, she has worked diligently to plan and organize programs and activities. She oversaw the operation of the women’s mikvah and the Emery & Mimi Green Chabad Preschool.
She has also served as a teacher in the Rabbi Alexander S. Gross Hebrew Academy in Miami Beach, for many years. Hundreds of Jewish youths have gained from her knowledge, which was infused with the light of chassidus.
Raised in Crown Heights, she merited to grow up in a chassidic home. Her parents were the late R’ Sholom Ber Pewzner, owner of the Balshan printing house, and Mrs. Rochel Pewzner, who passed away this past year.
Her grandfather was Rabbi Nissan Nemanov OBM, the illustrious Mashpia of the Yeshiva in Brunoy, France.
Community members described Mrs. Shaindy Lieberman as a determined person who the community has come to rely on to get things done.
“When she put her mind to something, there was no stopping her,” a local told COLlive.com. “Her passing is a great loss to her family and all of us.”
She is survived by her husband Rabbi Aron Lieberman, their children Mrs. Chanie Lebovics – Lauderhill, FL; Rabbi Chaim Leiberman – Lauderhill, FL; Rabbi Shmuel Lieberman – Hempstead, NY; Mrs. Estie Chanowitz – Sunrise, FL; Mrs. Mashie Laine – Crown Heights; and grandchildren.
She is also survived by her siblings Mrs. Esther Bluming – Crown Heights; R’ Yosef Yitzchok Pewzner – Crown Heights; Mrs. Shternie Bronstein – Miami, FL; Rabbi Shmuel Pewzner – Harrisburg, PA and Rabbi Mendel Pewzner – St. Petersburg, Russia.
The levaya will take place Sunday, leaving Shomrei Hadas at 1:00 pm and passing by 770 at 1:45 pm.
Baruch dayan haemes.

Rebbetzin Shaindy Lieberman (Zichrona Leveracha) embodied the greatest and highest aspects of ‘everyday holiness’:
ANAVAH, SAVLANUT, RACHMANUT, KAVOD,
NEDIVUT, and EMUNAH.
But for us, her greatest strength was her CHESED which, like our father Avraham, she ‘ran and hurried’ to do.
We will NEVER forget her radiant smile, her gentle and reassuring manner, and her
unwavering strengths.
To her entire family we extend our
sincerest condolences and deepest sympathy.
She was absolutely one of my favorite teachers in B.R. many years ago, she was a Mentch and cared about us deeply. What a loss!
May Hashem comfort the family and bring the Geulah now!

What terrible loss for the Lieberman/Pewzner family and the entire Miami Jewish community! Shaindy was a lady! She was aidel, so refined in her speech and dress. Her children and grandchildren, many whom I’ve had the privilege of teaching, are her legacy! What a tremendous loss! BD”E
