Mayan Yisroel of Flatbush in Brooklyn, NY held its groundbreaking dinner with over 450 people in attendance at the Canal Jean Building in Midwood.
Composer Yossi Green and the Mezamrim choir wowed the audience with an amazing production.
The vast majority of the Mayan Yisroel crowd are religious people, but at the dinner there was one Jew who had come for business reasons.
He was inspired by the atmosphere to such a degree that the following morning, bright and early, he arrived at Mayan Yisroel and requested to put on Tefillin. For years since his bar mitzvah he hadn’t put them on, he related. He then joined the morning Tanya shiur for 45 minutes of intense learning.
“You never know when and how you ignite a Neshama!” related another participant.
