Bracha Finkelstein, a staunch member of the Chabad community in Greater Los Angeles and a wellness professional, has passed away Wednesday, 18 Tammuz 5773.
She celebrated her 65th birthday on the auspicious chassidic holiday of 12 Tammuz, when the Frierdiker Rebbe was freed from Soviet prison for his Jewish activism.
Her sudden passing in her home Thursday has shocked her many friends and acquaintances throughout the community.
“She was warm and friendly and with a big heart,” one of her friends told COLlive. “She lived for the Rebbe, chassidus and Moshiach – that would optimize her.”
Born in the Five Towns, Finkelstein returned to her Jewish heritage thanks to the Rebbe’s Shluchim. She davened at Congregation Levi Yitzchok in Hancock Park, led by Rabbi Shimon Raichik and was an active member at Rabbi Reuven Wolf’s Maayon Yisroel center.
A certified Hypnotherapist, she maintained a successful practice in Beverly Hills for over 15 years, helping people from all walks of life with smoking cessation, weight loss, anxiety, chronic pain, insomnia and with easing labor and birth.
She is survived by her children Sara Malka Goldberg – Seattle, WA and Meira Ehrlich – Crown Heights; and grandchildren.
The levaya was held in Los Angeles on Thursday. Procession will be passing by 770 Eastern Parkway on Friday, 9:00am.

Bracha I will miss you so terribly… It was for a brief short time that I met you and got the big Zchus to spend a few shabbos meals with you. You were a Neshama like no other. They say that the people who pass away peacefully in their sleep – are true Tzadikim, they didn’t suffer anything. I believe this is so true especially in your case. The way you would Daven, Bench, Run to Shiurim (and drag me with you) my heart is tearing apart as I write this. You are missed already. May you have a true… Read more »

We are devastated by this unexpected loss to our community. Mrs. Finkelstein was a great friend, intelligent and a seeker of truth every day of her life. She lived every moment to the fullest and only wanted to do the will of Hashem at all times. She was courageous, dignified and merited to raise two very fine daughters. She will be sorely missed!
