A new sefer Torah is being written in memory of a father and his son, both of who have made a deep impact on those who knew them in their lifetime.
The fund to write the Torah was launched last week, on the 30th of Nissan, the first yartzeit of R’ Shaya Schtroks OBM, a devoted teacher at Cheder Lubavitch in Morristown, NJ, for over 26 years.
He was regarded by all as a Chassidishe man who conducted his life with sincerity and integrity – attributes he taught to his hundreds of students.
The Torah is also being dedicated to his father, R’ Ovadia Schtroks OBM, who taught hundreds of boys the Aleph-Beis at the Lubavitch Boys School in Stamford Hill, London – an activity which he continued until his passing on the 5th of Tishrei 5771.
As one of the founders of the Lubavitch community in London, Rabbi Schtroks was tireless in taking on many communal responsibilities such as fundraising, teaching and serving as chazzan on High Holidays.
Upon completion, the Torah will be used at Chabad of Goodyear in Arizona, directed by their niece/granddaughter Mrs. Chana Zaklikofsky and her husband Rabbi Berel Zaklikofsky.
Friends, family and former students, all of whom were touched and inspired in some way by R’ Ovadia and R’ Yeshaya are asked to give generously in their memory.

Rebbe Schtrocks taught my brothers and most of my sons aleph beis, with utmost devotion, and dedication, he was a true educator in every sense of the word,, always making sure the children had a comfortable and happy environment in which to learn, he went out of his way to accommodate their every need,he was truly a great person, but outwardly was a quiet modest and unassuming man whose whole life was dedicated to teaching little children, Torah,
thank you Rebbe Schtrocks
