Lipa, MBD Star-Studded event

MBD, Dedi and Lipa all rocked the night and did an amazing job getting people excited, happy, dancing and smiling, a review says about "The Event" concert in Madison Square Garden. Somewhere A Star
October 14, 2009 8:35 pm

You don’t have to be screaming like an animal to enjoy music. I thought the Pirchei was refreshing and the song Somewhere A Star a masterpiece, one of the most beautiful songs I’ve heard in a long time. To each his own.

i agree with 9

when i first saw ‘dedicated to … teitelbaum’ i thought to reb teitelbaum who was tragically killed in bombay, then i saw its a completely different perosn. at first i thought it would have been better to deticate it to him, but now i see beter. mixed seating? rolling disco music and wild dancing in dedication od that holy rabbi? even though i wasnt at the show i can clearly picture e/o jumping at the song hentalach! with this thought and my post #7-where there was basically mixed seating i want to know why everyone went nuts over this supposedly “ehrliche” and toned down event! do you think that fake separate seating and the crowd jumping up and roaring while disco and sharp lights are flashing is a toned down ehrliche show . lets get real e/o and let us realize what a nice toned down ehrliche show is really meant to be. and if e/o will understand that even… Read more »

we’ll start positively. the concert from the start had a lot of talent artists. and we really enjoyed up untill the shocking end song.we’re sitting here and wondering if G-d in himmil was “smiling, b’simcha” during the finale song “hentilach”, while thousands of yiddisha souls were jumping up and down to the screaming dancing and disco music and lights that made us feel like we walked in to the wrong event by accident !…just wondering

Generation Gap

As a contemporary of “The Rabbis Son’s.” it was refreshing to hear them sing again, though missing some of the originals, Michael Zheutlin, obm among them!

Their beautiful, sweet pristine harmonies were drowned out by the loud pyrotechnics de rigeur for today’s music.
How unfortunate that the forerunners of today’s music (Reb Baruch Chait for one) are not appreciated for their talent and brilliance. I’m certain that the younger generation have no idea how much these individuals have contibuted to the Jewish music scene.

holy cow!!!

what in the world is going on here? i hope my eyes are not seeing things! if you look closely at the 13th picture you will see that for some retarted reason i see ladies and men sitting in the same section!! i dont care if there is one or two seats separating them its completley not in the realm of tsnius!! i thought that this most toned down poshiter event can be toned down and at the same time follow the standard halacha of tsnius! i am not giving a halachic source for this becausei think its a give-in… Read more »
