Hundreds Gather at The Shul
Lubavitchers celebrated Yud Shvat in The Shul of Bar Harbour with guest speaker South African Rabbi Yossy Goldman. By Esther Rochel Elkaim
Yud Shvat, the yartzeit of the Frierdiker Rebbe and the day the Rebbe accepted the leadership of Chabad-Lubavitch a year later, was celebrated in The Shul of Bal Harbour in Surfside, Florida.
Hundreds of men and women gathered in the Shul's social hall for an hours-long chassidic farbrengen, that continued until after midnight.
Rabbi Zalman Lipskar of The Shul welcomed participants and introduced the guest speaker - Rabbi Yossy Goldman, Senior Rabbi of Johannesburg's largest congregation Sydenham Highlands North Shul and president of the South African Rabbinical Association.
Goldman, author of the recently published "From Where I Stand," spoke about the importance of Yud Shvat, his experiences on Shlichus, working on refining oneself, and doing the Rebbe's work to bring Moshiach.
