BROOKLYN – The NYPD’s Hate Crime Task Force is investigating after racist graffiti was discovered on an entire block in Crown Heights.
Authorities say someone spray-painted anti-black and anti-Semitic messages on buildings along Lincoln Place, between Utica and Rochester avenues, Monday morning.
Neighbors say they were shocked to find that door posts, stairs and other parts of people’s homes were covered with vulgar words and signs.
New York City Public Advocate Bill de Blasio said in a statement: “This hateful display of intolerance targeted one street, but it is an attack on the entire City of New York.
“The perpetrators will hear our message with absolute clarity – there is no place for them in Brooklyn or in this city. They will be apprehended. They will be prosecuted. And their days of spreading hate in our neighborhoods will be over.”

There were very few black people anywhere in Europe at that time since Europe didn’t use slave labour like the US.

I grew up a few blocks from this terrible desecration. It’s heartbreaking to see that 50 years after I left Crown Heights this can still happen. As a kid I got beaten up by white trash for the simple reason that I’m an identifiable Jew. I live in Canada and my next door neighbors were an elderly Jamaican couple with whom we had great neighborly relationship until they passed away.
You are ignorant to assume it’s someone black. And, Jews and Blacks are not the only ones living in Crown Heights.
Just in case this was yet another attack by our friendly neighbors of color- they may want to read up a bit on their own history. The Nazis targeted Blacks in Europe just the same as their other victims. But hey, anything that will get them negative attention will do even if it means forgetting their own history.
