Fathers, Sons Farbreng Together
Cheder Chabad of Toronto marked 200 years since the Alter Rebbe’s passing with a father and son farbrengen and learning event. Cheder Chabad of Toronto marked 200 years since the Alter Rebbe’s passing on Chof Daled Teves, with a grand father and son farbrengen and learning session.
The tables were beautifully set with refreshments and learning booklets. Over 200 fathers and sons learned bechavrusa Perek 32 of Tanya, after which each class presented in song one of the Alter Rebbe’s nigunim, accompanied by live music. All assembled joined in singing with deep feelings and fervor.
A beautiful story of the Alter Rebbe was shared and an all new chasiddishe bingo game with questions and answers on the Alter Rebbe’s life was played.
“For over two hours fathers and sons sat side by side along with their teachers and soaked in the chasiddishe varemekeit,” said Rabbi Baruch Zaltzman, principal of the school.
At the conclusion of the program, everyone davened mincha and watched a video of the Rebbe.
A special thank you goes to all of the Rebbeim; Rabbi Serebryanski, Rabbi L. Rosenfeld, Rabbi Ceitlin, Rabbi Y. Rosenfeld, Rabbi Korf, Rabbi Lezell, Rabbi Marmulszteyn, Rabbi Bard- Wigdor and Rabbi Goldberg, for the effort they put in preparing the children with the nigunim.
Fathers, Rebbeim and children walked away recharged with a sense of time very well spent on such a special day. The positive buzz generated has reverberated within the community and spurred an eagerness for more of such events in the future.
