Learning to Unite Chassidim

Members of Anash are encouraged to take upon themselves to learn a part of Tanya or Shulchan Aruch throughout the year.

In honor of 200 years since the Histalkus of the Alter Rebbe, Chassidim will unite through a joint venture of learning of the Alter Rebbe's Seforim in Nigle (the revealed part of the Torah) and Chassidus, (the esoteric part of the Torah) the Tanya and Shulchan Oruch.

Organized by the Lubavitch Youth Organization, members of Anash are encouraged to take a Perek of Tanya or a Siman of the Alter Rebbe's Shulchan Oruch to be learned throughout the year, until Friday Chof Daled Teves 5774 (December 27, 2013).

In the year 5723/1963, which was 150 years since the Histalkus of the Alter Rebbe, the Rebbe requested that Anash divide amongst themselves the Tanya and Shulchan Oruch to be learned in honor of Chof Daled Teves.

The same would hold true for the 200th year of the Histalkus of the Alter Rebbe.

There is already a great "buzz" and excitement among the people in Crown Heights to join in this great collective effort.

"It is indeed heartwarming seeing the spiritual awakening and commitment the 200th year of the Histalkus of the Alter Rebbe brought about," said Rabbi Shmuel Butman, Director of Lubavitch Youth Organization. "It shows the special character of Chassidim."

To view the list and join in, please >click here and write in your full name and mother's name next to the Perek or Siman that you would like to learn, if it has not yet been taken.

The Lubavitch Youth Organization will be reminding all participants throughout the year which section they have taken upon themselves to learn and greatly thanks to the Beis Medrash L'Shluchim for their valuable assistance with this project.
