Before the gala banquet of the 5773 Kinus Hashluchim in New York, a cocktail party was held for Chabad supporters and friends.
Over wine and hors d’oeuvres, they mingled with Chabad officials and Shluchim and were able to get a signed copy of the autobiography of Israel’s former Chief Rabbi Israel Meir Lau, the guest speaker.
Also on display was the original paintings, bas-relief mosaics and lithographs of chassidic artist Michoel Muchnik, known for his imaginative and joyful depiction of traditional and mystical Jewish themes.
Among those seen, from the lay-leadership side, were philanthropist George Rohr, world-renowned chazzan Yitzchak Meir Helfgot, investor Chaim Yankel Lebovits and Ukrainan businessman Refoel Dovber Rotman.
With participants from as far as Australia and South Africa, and as close as New York and Miami, the global effect and efficiency of Chabad institutions was the main topic of conversation.
Rabbi Mendy Kotlarsky of Merkos L’inyonei Chinuch thanked the participants for their support. A special thank you to the Vaad HaKinus and the staff of Merkos Suite 302 for securing all arrangements.
Dear Michoel Muchnik, much success, happiness and contentment. You work is very beautiful and creative.
Your art is invigorating and stunning. I stare at it and just revel in its glory!!
You take my breath away!
