Killed on Mumbai Anniversary

The victims of Thursday's attack in Kiryat Malachi were identified as Ahron Smadga, Yitzchak Amsalam, and 25-year-old Mira Scharf (nee Cohen), who was pregnant.

Three Lubavitchers have been killed in a grad rocket attack on a Chabad neighborhood of Kiryat Malachi, Israel Thursday morning.
The victims were identified as Ahron Smadga, 50, Yitzchak Amsalam, 27, and Mira Scharf (nee Cohen), 25, who was 7 months pregnant.
Scharf's husband Shmuel was critically injured, as were their 3 children.
The Scharfs were active in the Jewish community in New Delhi, India.
Her funeral will take place Thursday at 8 pm from Shamgar Funeral Home in Jerusalem.
Today, Rosh Chodesh Kislev is the yahrtzeit of Mumbai Shluchim Rabbi Gabi and Rivky Holtzberg obm, murdered in a terrorist attack in 2008.
50-year-old Ahron Smadga leaves behind 3 children, a set of twins and a 2 year old baby, which were born after 14 years of marriage.
His funeral will take place Thursday at 8 pm from Nachlas Har Chabad.
Six others were injured in the attack, including two infants, one of them eight months old. An additional victim, a four year old boy, was taken to Tel Hashomer hospital in central Israel for treatment. along with his father. The boy was in serious condition, and the father in moderate condition.
Altogether, seven people were injured in the Kiryat Malachi attack. Six others were treated for shock in the attack.

The victims were killed and injured when a Grad rocket hit an apartment building in Kiryat Malachi. The dead were among a large group that had taken refuge in an old building that suffered a direct hit from a Grad rocket.

the Rebbe said numerous times that what happenes "here" reflects on what happnes in eretz hakoidesh.
the fact that many pepole and schluchim can not walk safely and freely in 770 including leaders and pepole who were put by the rebbe in postions of moisdois, this fact means that we have a lot of work to do on our end.
isnt it odd that after many years of rockets the first time anyone was killed as a direct result of a rocket were members of Anash? and on the yortzeit of holtzberg.

We do believe in Hashem (we do, right?), isn't this clearly directed from above?! Hashem demands that we take notice! It's not just "another" tragedy.
Frankly, I'm shocked that in the face of such clear Gzeiras Hashem, in many places they are not even mentioning her Shlichus work in India! I'm a Shliach and I see the established mosdos as playing an important role, but when we have such clear, burning signs from above, we must unite and realize that there are much bigger things at play here.
If this doesn't immediately bring to a big hisorerus, a massive, collective cheshbon hanefesh (on many issues), then we are extremely mistaken. We are closing our eyes. And can not bode well for us, r"l. This needs to come from both grassroots, but also from people at "the top".
Every time there is a need for a true Hisorerus, and self examination, there are always those who throw up walls and pour kalte vasser. Don't listen to them. That is Maaseh Sot-n. It is a clear Halacha, and the Rebbe has mentioned this too, that when something like this happens it obligates us to take a serious accounting!

Saying "Tznius" points a finger at someone else. They're at fault, they need to fix themselves. I'm ok.
Yes, there is a major tznius problem. Yes, most people - even those who are ok in this area - can find room for improvement. But there are so many areas that need fixing. None of us are patur.
Everyone must do a personal cheshbon! Whether tznius, ahavas yisroel, achdus, etc.

the real obvious issue plaguing us is "self-esteem" issues which translates onto the street with nebach cases having little else to feel good about themselves & their lives R"L

3. Make time daily to be involved in the chinuch of your kids (30min minimum)
4. Hidur in Taharas Hamishpach & laws of Modesty
5. Give Tzedaka daily,

Today, we have a serious situation that didn't exist in Lubavitch with tznius. People used to run to dress properly! There was a certain excitement that is missing today due to attention to internet, cell phones, ipods and laptops.
Over and over and over again, the Rebbe discussed making a mivtza out of tznius protecting Jews in Israel!
It sounds like an odd way to win a war, but this is what Hash-m promises in the Torah. Even collecting hachlatos to do something more tznius would do so much.
You think I am talking to the stockingless girl in the street? NO. The problems with Tznius start (as Tanya tells us in Chapter 3) "the sinners get their nourishment from the aspect of the back of the talmidi chachamim".
My friends we have to conclude that the source of the tznius problem begins with US. As a famous story goes about a man who used to learn for 18 hours a day. Someone once asked him: "Why don't you learn a bit less and take a walk instead? This way you will be able to learn more. The man was shocked and replied: "Chas Ve Shalom"! If I learn less so the people who depend on me spiritually will learn less as well. Because I learn 18 hours a day, it enables the man who learns 6 hours a day. He then gives to the man who learns 2 hours a day who then in turn gives koach to the man who learns only half an hour. If I would learn less, so the people on the bottom who depend on me would drop off altogether...
Why are there no tznius projects in Mina's memory? This would be a fine "sefer torah" the builds strength from what happened. Tznius competitions in schools would be a fine place to start
