I agree with Shmuly Boteach wholeheartedly. Ultimately, the parents are responsible for the chinuch of their children. They should not rely on others for anything. it is in the home, and only in the home, that children can truly learn the proper way.

I would not blame the large families at all.
I don’t think it matters how many kids someone has, it matters what kind of parent that person is.
You can be a loving wonderful parent to your children, 1 or 10, or not. Look at the world, at how many children rebel against their family lifestyles. I don’t think the orthodox numbers are greater, just more noticeable (because out there people don’t care as much when their child rebels against their lifestyle – it’s their choice).
