The Crown Heights community is invited to attend the Awards Dinner hosted by Keren Simchas Chosson V’Kallah that will take place on Motzei Shabbos, October 20, 2012, at the Oholei Torah Ballroom, located at 667 Eastern Parkway, Brooklyn, NY.
The gala is in celebration of KSCVK Founder and Director Mrs. Devorah Benjamin’s Ruby (40th) Birthday. For her altruistic work of providing for young brides and grooms, Mrs. Benjamin will be presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award.
Keren Simchas Choson V’Kallah was created in 1993 by Mrs. Benjamin to help facilitate weddings for young couples who desire to get married but have very little money. Her approach is to help each couple individually, with their specific needs and desires in mind. Since its inception, KSCVK has helped hundreds of couples, with an annual budget of over $700,000.
The award ceremony will include the presentation of the Gemilas Chesed Award to Shimon Strauss, the Young Leadership Award to Chaim Moshe Jacobson, and the Hakoras Hatov Award to Rabbi Shmuel Lew—a guest speaker at the event.
The reception will begin at 8:00 PM, followed by dinner and program.
For more information and to purchase tickets, please visit www.KSCVK.org and join the Facebook fan base at Facebook.com/KSCVK. Reservations can also be sent to KSCVK at 712 Montgomery St., Brooklyn, NY 11213. Or call 347.770.1259.
Good going Chaim Moshe! from your cousins in Detroit
did u read the whole thing?
“but I give whatever I can” — sometimes even more then I can afford…
it’s interesting, how that’s all you took out of all that was written…
We need more people in our community like Rebbetzin Benjamin!
That is a very POOR excuse to say that ” Hashem has not yet given me the means to be able to {give money} to do that.
Maybe if you start giving more, then Hashem will give YOU more!
When I got engaged, I couldn’t afford anything for my L’chaim, Kallah Gift, clothing, hat, etc.. Devorah paid for so much of it all. and the wedding too, she took care of our family’s side almost completely. I can not imagine what would have been, were it not for her tremendous Chesed. She was at the wedding from beginning to end, every detail wasn’t forgotten. she had taken care of everything. she even called me before the wedding to make sure I would be there on time, and to remind me of all the little things I had to take… Read more »

Congrats to Moshe Frank, head of the Young Leadership Division who is planning the dinner.
Devorah does immense things for the community!
It certainly is strange that people dont give you their wedding pictures willingly. I’m one of those. Would you be interested in hearing why? Can you handle a little bit of feedback even if it borderlines on criticism? If you would like we can chat via email. Let me know here if you’d like my email.
Wishing Devorah all the best!!

I know Devorah from when she was in school – the same smile , the same willingness to always help out everyone! And good choice for the Hakaras Hatov award! Rabbi Lew was my headmaster and is an inspiration to so many!
The two chevre top left and middle… I am in Canada and think I went to yeshiva with one of them years ago. Collive is read around the world so dont assume everyone knows everyone we are a global family now….!!
She should be the head of the crown heights community council, not these “say a lot and do nothing publicity seeking hasbeens”
yes the payapl is [email protected]
I would love to give Devorah a small gift that she would appreciate.
Can some1 please find out what she would like.
Go Devorah!!
does 24/7 cover it? dvora literally worries abt HER chassanim and HER Kallahs constantly like they are her very own. after all, she has married off, how many now? hundreds of couples, maybe in the thousands. D’vora, thanks from our family and from all the families whom you have helped at a time of need. You are mamesh a malach sent from Hashem to help those whose simcha would be much less simchadik without you. from the depths of our hearts Dvora, thank you, and may Hashem repay you with all that you and your family needs.
If you were helped by Devorah Benjamin for your wedding in any way we ask you to PLEASE send in a wedding picture and date of your wedding to [email protected]. We are putting together a special album for Devorah for the dinner. Time is of the essence so please send it asap and dont delay till after yom tov thank you very much
Excellent advice. And it’s nice to see you have such Hakoros Hatov…I wish Devorah could say the same about many (most???) of the people she helped. I know this because she has told me how hurt she is by people, esp. the “cases” that were very complicated.
Bottom line, if YOU received help, at least buy 1 ticket. If you’re out of town, give the ticket to a bochur or girl, or give it back to be sold again. Just think where you’d be today if Devorah wasn’t there for you when you needed her.
signed, a committee member
i cannot begin to tell you what an amazing women she is. and the her job to the fullest extent. may she be blessed with all the brochos til 120 I”YH
she should be blessed blessed blessed 1000X over!
SHE IS AMAZING!!
When our son got married, we had no extra money for the l’chaim and gifts. She helped us out when we were at our lowest —if the other side knew how unprepared we were (to no fault of our own, we are shluchim and have a large family) it is quite possible they would have cancelled the wedding. Devorah gave us money to help us marry off our son in such a dignified way. We are better off financially now, B”H and we are going to the dinner and putting an ad to show our immense appreciation. You have no… Read more »
for all the amazing work she does
