The yartzeit of the Lubavitcher Rebbe's father, Rabbi Levi Yitzchak Schneerson (1878-1944), on Av 20 will be marked in a series of events and classes around the world.

The Chief Rabbi of Yekaterinoslav (currently Dnepropetrovsk), Reb Levik was arrested and exiled to Kazakhstan by the Stalinist regime as a result of his work to preserve Jewish life in the Soviet Union.

Learning classes in Chabad boys and girls camps will be dedicated to his memory and shining example of standing strong on the principals of the Jewish faith.

In Crown Heights, the Rebbe's home on 1304 President Street was open Tuesday, 9:00 PM for the public for davening Maariv. Gabbai Rabbi Zev Katz was the chazzan.

The Rebbe's room in 770 Eastern Parkway was opened as well, with the Rebbe's Mazkirim Rabbi Leibel Groner and Rabbi Binyomin Klein present.

Many are expected to visit the Rebbe's Ohel on Wednesday.

A special farbrengen will be taking place there at 5:00 PM with some of the rabbonim, Roshei Yeshiva and Mashpiim who are coming to New York for the Global Yarchei Kallah in the Catskills.

Anash and bochurim are invited to participate in the meal catered by Bentzi Futerfas in the Ohel's third tent.
