The threat is on a high, the funds are low.
The U.S. Department of Homeland Security released the full list of institutions that will be receiving a grant from the Urban Areas Security Initiative Nonprofit Security Grant Program’s reduced budget.
The grant provides funding for “target hardening and other physical security enhancements and activities to nonprofit organizations that are at high risk of a terrorist attack and located within one of the eligible urban areas.”
Notwithstanding the recent cutbacks, Jewish synagogues and centers will receive 97% of the funds, or $9.7 million.

Where went the rule of think –and know– before you talk? 1. Where do you think collive got this list from? They broke into the DHS? We’re talking about government funding here. Everything is online! 2. Just because 37 got funding does not mean they are now protected, the same way it does not mean the others aren’t. This grant is given every year, and the same institution cannot apply over and over. So make the calculation of how many Chabad mosdos were “protected” thanks to this grant. 3. The Government is going to spend the money in any case. What better way to “Waste” Taxpayer money than improve the infrastructure of Chabad Houses?
