While Friendship Circle of Sharon, Massachusetts, has garnered 3,412 votes and is in the lead in Virgin America’s competition to win a $25,000 grant, Rabbi Chaim Wolosow remains cautious.
“I thank you for helping us so far,” Wolosow told COLlive Friday, February 6.
“We can’t however declare victory yet as the competition ends today and our competitor can still receive votes on Shabbos so we need your votes now.”
Entering the What’s Your Revolution race only 9 days ago, the Chabad-run organization is ahead of Boston Medical Center’s SPARK Center by only a hundred points.
COLlive.com first reported about the contest on February 2, calling on our fans to help win the grant. Mass emails circulated with our story.
“I’ve been involved with Friendship Circle for years as a volunteer,” wrote a blogger named screwdriver331. “And now my sister is involved as a recipient of their wonderful love – it’s amazing how much you gain no matter what side you’re on.”
Friendship Circle teams up teenage volunteers and children with special needs for hours of fun and friendship.
“We are competing against some really prominent charities,” Rabbi Wolosow told COLlive on February 3, hoping to at least make it to the top five. 2000 votes were needed then.
Today, February 6, is the last day to submit your votes and Rabbi Wolosow is urging supporters to vote before Shabbos.
Follow these steps to register and vote:

i sat for hours helping out by entering tons of names and reminding people to vote. i hope they win!
I sat in the Shluchim office for an hour entering names
COLLIVE is a great tool for shluchim. They helped me in that past (I will write about it one day)
