The Answer Regarding If The Rebbe Prepared Us
July 2, 2012 12:29 am

In reply to the premise that the Rebbe didn’t prepare us for gimmel tammuz, firstly see http://www.770live.com/En770/770video.asp?id=5&vid=sichos/5748/video480602.rm&spd=1&dsc=Sicha%20Concerning%20the%20Authority%20of%20the%20Local%20Bes%20Din%3Cbr%3E2%20Adar%205748

In other words, the Rebbe very clearly indicates that two methods will bring geulah 1. If we get it and realize that geulah has arrived and we need to make it a reality in our lives i.e. the changes (positive) in the world are the light of geulah and our potential shines as never before

Or unfortunately b. cossis lemoir, that feeling despondent and hopeless we will yearn for Moshiach, hence reveal the spark of God/Moshiach within to dominate (see mammer atah tetzaveh)

I had the zchus to know Rabbi Wineberg first as a neighbor on Crown Street and then in Kansas City when he visited his son Rabbi S.D.B. Wineberg. Not only was I impressed by the fact that he always remembered my husband and I, but he also paid a great deal of loving attention to my chidren. Once he was saying tehillim on the Kansas City Wineberg’s deck and my daughter who was 3 years old came up to him and he stopped saying tehillim for a moment to give her a pat and kiss on top of her head.… Read more »

I was a teen in the sixties and I still remember the Yomin Noraim davenings of Rabbi Weinberg. He didn’t daven concert style – he davemed hartzig style. When he davened Mussof Yom Kippur Unesaneh Tokef, there were very few dry eyes. May he pull a couple of strings together with all the other tzadikim and bring Moshiach.O

Rabbi Weinberg’s farbrengens, dovanen and Chasidus sheeurim at Rayim Ahuvim were priceless, and inspired me and others in a very deep, personal way. As several people said, indeed, they do not make them like that anymore! I am so disappointed that he did not live to see Moshiach Tzidkanu take us out of golus. May we not have too wait long for hakeetzu v’rannenu shochay afar, v’hu b’socham!

I was standing in 770 when the Rebbe came out the first time on the balcony in public, when they opened the curtain, I saw Rabbi Wienberg start crying like a young child, bawling and crying, I was standing in close proximity to Reb Yosef, and I started to cry as well, he was a true Chosid of the Rebbe.

Truly an Outstanding Chossid
June 27, 2012 6:22 pm

Rabbi Wineberg is one of those who had a great influence on my father’s becoming a chossid, way back in the 1940’s. I hope someone will write a book of his life- this generation would gain much. May Hashem Yisborach bring the geulah shleima now, and all those who are gone will return.

After 21 years away on shlichus, during davening slichos and the tfillos on Yom Kippur, I still see the Rebbe standing in his place and hear Rabbi Wineberg’s voice tearing the heavens asunder…
Dearest Freidy, we are thinking of you and all the family. Your father’s varmkeit and hiskashrus and his ibergegebenkeit to the Rebbe’s inyanim are unforgettable. This is a great loss for Lubavitch…
Moshiach now.

His beautiful story in Vilna. I don’t remember the Chasid’s
name who hosted young Rabbi Wineberg, abochur running from Nazi Poland. The elder chassid exchanged his shoes for Rabbi Winebergs torn shoes. Rabbi Wineberg protested, “dos iz dyner;(they are yours!) the chassid answered Nu, myner, dyner! ” translation big deal my shoes;your shoes! Rabbi Wineberg wanted to teach us true ahavas yisroel.

A great loss!
June 27, 2012 3:04 pm

Listening to Rabbi Wineberg fabreng I felt through his exceptional midos and chayos a connection to the Friediker Rebbe and the Rebbe. It was always so inspirational to be in his presence. I once asked him how the Rebbe could have left us so emotionally unprepared after gimel Tamuz. He answered with honesty that knowing the Rebbes extreme sensitivity to others he too does not understand. May he be a guter oisbeter in himel to bring Moshiach now!!!

How rabbi Wineberg effected me
June 27, 2012 1:23 pm

it was in the 1980’s when achron shel pessach fell on Shabbos. as people were bringing matzah and wine to 770 to put in their lockers so they would have them at the rebbe’s farbrengen, i witnesed the following: a recent baal tshuvah that was a student asked rabbi wineberg if he could put his matzah and wine in rabbi Wineberg’s locker. Immediately Rabbi Wineberg answerd: “SURE”.באופן של כל עצמותי תאמרנה Seeing the example Rabbi Wineberg showed me (I was only a child then) I thought about the way one should respond when asked to do a favor, not just… Read more »

Rabbi Wineberg was one of the greatest gifts to Lubavitch. His contributions are immeasurable. I am forever grateful to him for all his wise counsel, brilliance, yiras shomayim, his love for the Rebbe, and great understanding and example of what a chosid is.

my sister and brother-in-law were lucky to have had him as their father. May all his family take great pride in him and strive to follow in his footsteps.

We have lost a great leader today.

I have many many fond memories of Rabbi Wineberg, but my favorite was a vort he gave when addressing Nshei at a convention in 770. He spoke about ” Mivtzah Hello how are you?” and bemoaned the number of people he had helped or hosted who couldn’t find the time or energy to stop and say good shabbos or good morning to him on the street. I will take it upon myself to go out of my way to be more friendly and empathetic on the street in his honor….Frumma Gottlieb, North Miami Beach

There are some people who affect you to the core. Having had to schus to be admitted to the family seudas for years, I had come to see greatness unparalleled in my personal experience. It will take time to get past the shock. This is a huge loss and may HaShem comfort the beautiful family who have been so devoted and special.

Rabbi Wineberg legacy carries on thru his children also watch the DVD of tishrei in 770 everyday Rabbi Wineberg has touched everyones heart with his Tanya shiurim and Nussach hatefilla , as a child in the 60’s I would listen to the Motzoei Shabbos shiur with a crystal radio , no portable radio was available yet .
Rabbi Wineberg will by malitz yoisher on Klal yisroel and bring moshiach now .
