80 children, parents and grandparents packed the Lubavitch Centre in Glasgow, Scotland for the annual Hebrew School Graduation, prize giving ceremony and tea reception.
Rabbi Chaim and Sora Jacobs, Shluchim in Glasgow, founded the Lubavitch Cheder and Hebrew School Classes 43 years ago. Textbooks and workbooks they created 12 years ago are used in Lubavitch classes in Glasgow as well as in many Hebrew Schools throughout the world.
Rabbi Chaim and Sora, along with Rabbi Mendel Jacobs, currently teach 35 children every week, including Bat Chayil classes for girls.
Sora Jacobs, the Cheder’s head teacher, complimented the tremendous efforts of all the children and the support of the parents.
The event’s guests of honor were Brian and Dorothy Levine, long standing friends and supporters of Chabad in Glasgow.
Brian Levine praised the work of Lubavitch and noted that his children, and more recently his grandchildren, have all attended Lubavitch Nursery school, Hebrew School and Bat Chayil Classes.
“We parents have done our share in supporting Lubavitch,” he told parents of the young Hebrew School students, “it is now up to you, the young parents, to continue this support,” he said.
yay Bobba and Zaida!!
lovely pictures ma and tat!!
I was in Glasgow as a kid forty years ago, the impression of the hard work the Jacobs had left a life long effect on me.
The Rebbe in a now famous letter, aplauded there tremendous success so much so that others made a kollel there. Very rarely do we see the Rebbe giving such praise.
Keep up your good work and many more years and many more students.
Keep up your great work!
LOOKIN GREAT 🙂
