This past Sunday, young college students and professionals of the Sheepshead Bay area in Brooklyn, most of whom are not yet Torah observing, were inspired by the music and tales of singer-songwriter Moshe Hecht.
“Moshe has an incredible way of connecting with young people,” says Mikhail Pais, one of the event co-ordinators.
The event was put on by Chabad Youth Of Sheepshead Bay, Directed by Rabbi Shlomo and Tzippy Cohen.
The topic of the night was love and relationships, and Moshe brought stories and insight from Chassidus to beautifully illustrate Torah’s perspective on what truly keeps two people together.
“I really did not expect to hear such a modern sound, yet combined with so much spirituality,” said Gabriel Goldenberg, a student at Brooklyn College Law School. “It was quite a surprise. We all had a really good time.”
