Thanks to Bnos Chomesh for arranging this event for the whole community.

Why was the rescue of the Frierdiker Rebbe Omitted my Mrs. Lichtenstein
January 17, 2012 6:29 pm

Mrs. Lichtenstein’s Project Witness publications include accounts of the major rescue stories of gedolim, such as the Gerrer Rebbe and the Belzer Rov, etc. Not a word is mentioned about the dramatic and miraculous rescue of the Frierdiker Rebbe. Why? Nothing is mentioned about the Frierdiker Rebbe’s hatzalah efforts during the war. Why?

Sounds like a good event.

I will be there.

This will be a memorable evening! Mrs Lichtenstein a child of survivors has been quoted to say: She learned about the holocaust from her mother who spoke of her experience and from her father’s silence who did not speak.
May the zechus of all the holy Kedoishim and remembering them
bring Moshiach Now!!!

wish i could come

After reading the powerful piece in the Neshei, I had wanted to hear more. At least, my wife will go and tell me what she heard. This is CRUCIAL to our community.

wow, encourage every girl to go!
January 17, 2012 9:36 am

thank you!

So important!
January 17, 2012 9:25 am

My guess is the overwhelming majority of our girls have never met anyone who is a Holocaust survivor. Their general knowledge of the Holocaust is minimal and their awareness of the personal stories of mesiras nefesh of those who went through it is even less. I think think all the girls high schools should make this event mandatory for their students. It is a very fitting way to honor the birthday of Rebbetzin Chana’s a woman who herself was moiser nefesh time and time again. Yasher Koach to the organizers.

a good message-giver
January 17, 2012 9:16 am

Mrs. Lichtenstein is my hero, that’s for sure
while it’s not about her at all, but about the kedoshim, and about Hashem, and about us, still when you hear it from HER the message comes across with strength and purity

Wow
January 17, 2012 9:02 am

This is a first in Crown Heights. Heard so much about Mrs. L- will iy”h come to hear her in person. Looking forward, thank you.
