Oprah Seen in Crown Heights
Media mogul Oprah Winfrey was spotted in Crown Heights Wednesday, visiting two chassidic families for a TV show.
Media mogul and famed TV personality Oprah Winfrey was in the Brooklyn neighborhood of Crown Heights on Wednesday afternoon filming a new television series.
"Oprah's Next Chapter" which premieres in January 2012 will be giving a glimpse into the daily life of chassidic Jews and how their intense spiritual devotion informs and strengthens their dealings with the outside world.
Winfrey, named by Time Magazine as the most influential woman in the world and on the Forbes 400 richest in America, was spotted in the neighborhood with her large filming crew.
Chabad.org reports that she sat down with two families as part of her visit, enjoying a traditional kosher meal as well.
The website said Winfrey also discussed communal affairs with 5 Jewish women and toured the Mei Menachem Community Mikvah in Brooklyn Heights, run by Rabbi Aaron and Sterna Raskin.
She was also in Borough Park.
According to producers, the series will air on the OWN (Oprah Winfrey Network) channel and will focus on her journeys outside the studio as she takes conversations with real people, newsmakers, celebrities and thought leaders to a new level.

YOUR STORY IS A BOLD FACED LIE.
In Oprah's OWN words:
"Oprah Winfrey: I was born, as I said, in rural Mississippi in 1954. I was born at home. There were not a lot of educated people around and my name had been chosen from the Bible.
My Aunt Ida had chosen the name, but nobody really knew how to spell it, so it went down as "Orpah" on my birth certificate, but people didn't know how to pronounce it, so they put the "P" before the "R" in every place else other than the birth certificate. On the birth certificate it is Orpah, but then it got translated to Oprah, so here we are. "

If that's a true story then I hope it makes it on TV! What Lubavitch Chutzpah (in an awesome way). And how awesome is it that you're PROUD of it!
True we don't read it on Shavuos - but (a) you ought to know your Tenach and there's plenty of reference in the Gemoroh and (b) we do say it in Tikun Lail
Five giant sons, with six fingers on each hand and six toes on each foot, (Goliath was her son) - all killed by Ruth's grandchild..
