This Tuesday, a unique Kinus Torah took place in Crown Heights. As per the call of the Rebbe to add in learning Torah and particularly regarding the Beis Hamikdash, Merkaz Anash held a gathering entirely dedicated to this subject. A crowd of close to 200 people sat for almost three hours listening and learning.
The Kinus was opened by the MC and organizer of the Kinus, Rabbi Shmuel Pevzner, who emphasized the great importance of such a kinus, and its significance to the Rebbe. He related some anecdotes of the Rebbe’s interest and involvement in the details of such a kinus held yearly in Yerushalayim for many years.
Then Rabbi Yehudah Leib Altien of Kolel Chabad in Midtown Manhattan elegantly delivered a sicha of the Rebbe on the kashrus of a mizbeiach which was blemished. He explained the position of the Rambam and the relevance of the issue concerning halachos of shechita and kashrus.
He was followed by Rabbi Avrohom Gerlitzky of Oholei Torah and author of ‘Yemos Hamoshiach Bahalacha’. Rabbi Gerlitzky discussed the future expansion of Yerushalayim and the halachic status of the added area.
Rabbi Chaim Shmuel Friedman, producer of the virtual DVD on the Beis Hamikdash, spoke as well, and shared some thoughts and experiences in his mission of teaching about the Beis Hamikdash to various crowds.
A siyum was then made by Rabbi Pevzner, followed by mairiv.
The Kinus was broadcasted live by Torah Café.
The entire crowd then sat down to view the full length 3D video of the Beis Hamikdash. After the video was over many stayed to discuss with Rabbi Friedman various details of the structure of the Beis Hamikdash. Everyone left uplifted and inspired, awaiting the coming of Moshiach and the third Beis Hamikdash.
