First Ever "Chabad Gemara"
Rabbi Yochanon Gurary is leading a team who are printing an edition of Talmud Bavli that will include Chabad Rebbes' commentaries. By COLlive reporter
Bochurim of Tomchei Tmimim and Chabad Yeshivos worldwide will be enjoying a rare opportunity to learn Gemara with the commentaries from the Chabad Rebbes.
Beginning from the Alter Rebbe, through the Tzemach Tzedek and the Rebbe, these enlightening and deep explanations will be accompanying a new edition of the Gemara.
Leading the effort is Rabbi Yochanon Gurary, Chief Rabbi of the Israeli city of Holon and Director of the Oholei Sheim Lubavitch publishing house.
"Our intention is to first publish the tractates that are learned in yeshivos, but in the second stage we'll consider continuing to all tractates of Talmud Bavli," he said.
A group of talented and knowledgeable Torah scholars have spent hundreds of hours on the project, and the first volume on Meseches Kiddushin, to be learned in Yeshivos this coming school year, will be printed before Elul 5771.
It will include the Gemara layout from the Oz V'hadar edition and in separate pages the commentaries of the Rebbes, which in Kiddushin fills some 300 large pages.
The Chish company in Kfar Chabad will be distributing it. It's not clear who will be selling it in the United States.

He's adding a few more in this edition
It sold extremely well, and currently out of print. Unlike anything of its kind, the Kehos board member authorized the Kehos edition, after it Yoshev Rosh ordered its creation.
The volume 13 of the Shas received a 44% market among Lubavitchers, just below Mosnayim by Menachem Vagshal. It intentionally was price exactly $1 more than the same volume from Vagshal. If it was sold %1 less, it like would have dominated the market.
The new Shas has been renamed in 2011 to the "Shneersohn Talmud Project", or STP, and is market by "Everything You Want Jewish And More.com, Inc." for release in 2018, for $1,000 for 5 years/ Subscriptions and Pre-Orders can be secured at $100 per month in 2015 for only $800, or $50 per month in 2014 for only $500.
The STP is for every Jew, and has received letters of endorsement and blessing from the leaders of every chug of the Jewish, and was ruled yo enjoy hasagas gevul olamis.
As such, it features hagaas and chidushim from the seven Lubavitcher Rebbes, R' Chaim Volozener, his grandson the Grach, his son the Griz etc., the Chidusei Rim, the Divrei Chaim, the Chasam Sofer, the Rogotchover, Reb Moshe Feinstein, the Sedei Chemed, Menashe Hakoten, Hakdamas HaRamam Lehamishnah (al hadaf), Rav Sevei, Shlamas Rasi, Rabbenu Shmel, Reb Yoel Satmar, the Munkatch Rav, and many others.
To accommodate the addition of these new commentaries, two new columns qill added to the page, and wrap around the bottom, like Rashi and Tosefos.
In tjhe second edition, a daf gimel and daled will be introduced for the first timr, bringing the rishonim forward to the front on daf gimmel, and the achronim to the front on daf daled. As a result daf gimmel will face daf beis, and daf daled will face amud beis, as discussed with the Belzer Dayan Rabbi Shlome Hacohen Gross.. See the web site for details in 2014.
