An appeal for Sholom Mordechai Rubashkin will be argued before three judges on the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals on Wednesday, June 15, in the Thomas Eagleton Federal courthouse in St. Louis, Missouri.
Rubashkin, former manager of a kosher meat-packing plant in Iowa, was convicted of bank fraud and sentenced to 27 years, but many legal experts have questioned the conduct of the judges.
Professor Bennett Gershman and attorney Joel Cohen recently called it “one of the most bitterly contested and controversial criminal trials in many years.”
While many in the Jewish community will be saying Tehillim at 1:30 PM CDT on Wednesday, Rubashkin’s 24 year-old son Meir Simcha Rubashkin will be on another continent.
The young Rubashkin is currently en route to Melbourne, Australia, where he will be the guest speaker at a gathering of prayer and support for his father organized by the local Jewish community.
He will be joined by Melbourne’s rabbis at the event for men and boys set for Wednesday, June 15 (Sivan 13), 7 PM, at the Adass Gutnick Hall, 12 Glen Eira Av. Ripponlea.
MAY OUR TFILOS GET HIM OUT!!!

hatzlacha raba
i know it!!
These Rubashkin kids, every one of them – are simply amazing – and are a tremendous testament to their dear parents.
May they be successful and may this terrible stain on America’s justice system be removed with the release of Shalom Rubashkin. Every day that he spends in jail is a day too much, and an affront to the American Judiciary.
