Lubavitchers on Facebook were happy to discover last week a photo of the Lubavitcher Rebbe smiling at them from the right side advertisement bar, asking if they are fans of Chabad they should click ‘Like.’
Only, the page being advertised was Aish Hatorah, a Yeshiva and outreach organizion in Israel, known for spewing hate for chasidus and Chabad, on and off the record.
“Click ‘Like’ if you LOVE Chabad and PROUD to be Jewish,” the ad reads.
Chabad.Org, Chabad’s central content website, has 19,463 ‘Likes’ on their Facebook page, while Aish Hatorah has 13,164.
Chabad officials are not commenting on this story, but privately some thought it was ironic that “when push comes to shove, they know who to mention to gain a following.”
If the shoe fits- WEAR IT!
🙂
wake up and smell the coffee! I recently attended a wedding with someone of that persuasion and she could not stop knocking chabad while praising herself for the wonderful “kiruv” work she is involved in. I did not let her get away with it, and told her the facts as they are; “lady, get off your high horse, if it weren’t for Lubavitch you would never dare do what you are priding yourself for now.” and yes, when push comes to shove we’ll use Lubavitch to get ahead, but WILL NEVER ACKNOWLEDGE THAT IT’S THANKS TO LUBAVITCH that they are… Read more »

ROFL!!!!
THIS IS THE FUNNIEST THING EVER!
Let’s smile and move on…
Aish, here is a tip if you want to copy chabad, try putting on Tefilin with Jews.
Little secret you might not know… THEM PEOPLE LOVE IT!
Aish is desperate to ‘make it’ like Chabad.
I’m not sure how this particular ad came into being- it may or may not have been innocently created- but in general, there is nothing positive about deception, beyond the unintended compliment that one may infer from being deceptively imitated. I personally don’t jump for joy when I see “kiruv” institutions printing brochures”innocently” depicting their volunteers engaged in activities that are widely recognized as the hallmarks of Lubavitch. Nor do I jump for joy when, after decades of mocking our Hafotzoh activities, (our younger generation may not be familiar with this phase of our history) their brochures have now begun… Read more »
i agree with you 100 percent. the rebbe is the nassi of all yidden, not just chassidim. we dont own the rebbe. the rebbes goal was that another jew shud be shomer tora umitzvos. if its through aish, then so be it.
I dont think t should be a numbers competition… The fact is Aisha hatorah is recognizing the strength of the rebbe and using his image which people know and recognize and respect, to bring yidden closer. Aisha hatorah is seeing the light b”h
Take them to a zabla
Really?! That’s what they teach?
just because they have different hashkafos, doesnt make them bad. they are yidden like you.
There is a Chabad page that is managed by a misnaged, it’s called Chabad, if you like that page, make sure to unlike it.
Sinas Chinom (which is one first things these groups teach) is neither Torah or Mitzvos.
The Rebbe is the Rebbe of all the Jews, wether they want to learn and be inspired form him is their choice, but why should we get offended? Don’t we learn and especially in the Omer, to have ahavas yisroel and share with our fellow yidden? This is not something bad that happened compared to all the other shtus in the world! At least be happy that people recognise how holy The Rebbe is!
its no mistake prob not even made by aish
some bored lubav kid or other
Jewpon is using the same trick. click like if you want moshiach now and a (different) picture of the rebbe
First it’s “just” the internet, then just Facebook, then you end up on aish’s page…
By who?! Of course it was deliberate! The ad itself my not be very good branding for aish, but the more likes they end up with, the more innocent neshamos land on their page!
Chabad doesnt need more or less likes on facebook to be a successful organazation. The rebbe leads our way and gives us strength regardless of how many facebook likes we have. I heard something interesting recently. There are two kinds of ways the neshama resides in the guf. One way is that it is completely batul to the body and the second way is when it is two seperate entities. The same is with the Rebbe and our world. The Rebbe has become so batul to our world that people dont even realize that it is him and they accredit… Read more »
Shame it was taken down…..i think its a great thing
Chabad headquarters should sue them for using the Rebbe’s image+chabad as a way to deceive people
since when is yiddishkeit competitive? If a jew becomes frum through aish and not chabad you would be upset that a neshomo is now shomer torah u mitzvos?
They’ve removed this gimmick already:)
please send you photo and we will use it for our advertising campaign for Friendship Circle.
if you dont want to be an ad, why is it ok to let them make the Rebbe into one?
I dont think its innocent at all, not a mistake!
They are using our Rebbe’s photo to get facebook likes, that is a total chutzpah
now is the time to LIKE chabad.org and show our support for our own
lately i have been hearing too many exact stories of our rebbeim being told among the misnagdim but that it happened to the shach ikdoimeh(eliashiv or vilna gaon etc). Apparently it is ok as long as the message gets across.
there are a few aish people commenting here, trying to cover up that they have been caught out
It seems like a mistake, but a nice one:)
Moshiach times! Aish promoting the Rebbe and Chabad. Like!
Are you serious? You think this was malicious, that Aish was trying to fool people? C’mon!
One thing is for sure that your Very Naive….
If you haven’t ”liked Chabad.org” yet now’s the time… Show your support to Chabad.org….
We all have Facebook accounts… get on to your Facebook account and go onto the Chabad.org page – Copy this link And click like.. Share this article with all your friends and make sure they also click like…
http://www.facebook.com/ChabadOrg
How do you know Facebook didn’t screw something up with their advertising? Why would they ask if you “love Chabad” in the text only to advertise something completely different? Even if they wanted to use the Rebbe’s image, they surely wouldn’t have used the name Chabad to promote Aish. It simply doesn’t help their branding.
Shame to promote senseless hatred over what was probably a computer glitch or an ignorant Facebook employee (or any other possibility).
Get all the shluchim to have facebook linked to their websites articles, photos etc … and have an option to LIKE Chabad.org…
the number of likes will be over 100,000 in a few days…
We are Chabad an international organization the leading one on the face of the land and on the face of Jewish History….. Moishlim Bekerev Teivel..
Ashreinu Mah tov Chelkeinu…. Even the Misnagdim recognize that the way to be Mekarev another yid is the through ”marketing the Rebbe”
