Wednesday evening, Pesach Sheni, more than 400 women attended a Chinese Auction event honoring Mrs. Leah Rubashkin and benefitting Cheder Chabad of Monsey at the Ateres Charna Ballroom near Monsey.
The program opened with words from the Lubavitcher Rebbe delivered to a gathering of women and girls at this time in 5744 (1984) about the mission of women to build their homes on the foundation of Torah and mitzvos utilizing their extra measure of binah.
Guest speaker Miryam Swerdlov told the crowd that Pesach Sheni gives us the power to do all the things we think it’s too late to do and gave up on. Miryam’s talk empowered women to believe in themselves and to undertake the challenge of fulfilling their goals even if they couldn’t do so in the past.
Next, Leah Rubashkin spoke about the formula for meeting life’s challenges – the aleph, bais and gimel, which stands for emunah and bitachon leads to personal geulah. Leah described encounters and events where Hashem let the Rubashkin family know that He is there.
The evening ended off with flowers presented to the organizers and 22 happy prize winners.
