The Artists For Israel group were back in the Holy Land this week, this time visiting the city of Hebron, decorating its Jewish enclave.
The graffiti artists who last year added life to walls and buildings in Sderot, were invited by Chabad House of Hebron, directed by Rabbi Danny Cohen.
With the mission “Make art not war” these non Jewish creative individuals aim to express “Israel’s right to exist in peace and security. We are the security fence against cultural terrorism.”
They do so by showcasing culturally relevant words which promote a positive image of Israel on U.S. campuses and communities.
In Hebron, the artists drew Moshe Rabeinu’s spies bringing back grapes from Israel, the Beis Hamikdash, the logo of Chabad Hebron and symbols of the IDF units stationed in the city.
One of the artists, Miguel Angel Belin from Spain, depicted the 1991 meeting between the Rebbe and then Israel’s Sephardic Chief Rabbi Mordechai Eliyahu.
Dear Haters –
Its a good thing we have no real enemies or else that would totally get in the way of fighting each other.
You are silly.

I recently went to Eretz Yisroel and hadn’t been there for at least 20 years. The one thing that upset me the most was the Reb Na Na Nachman graffiti in many places. The buildings and landscape are so beautiful and graffiti has no place in the holy land – especially when it is representling religious institutions.
Danny and Batsheva are on the front line doing the Rebbes Shlichus don’t u dare bash them or anything they do!!!!!!!!!!
Shmuli.
i was just there! At Danny’s house!!! he was telling us who were there about the painters who were coming!!! that’s soooo cool!!!
There is definitely talent in the drawing, but the people and vibe presented in it are very inaccurate to the original.
Bottom line
As a drawing – nice
As a copy – horrible
i was a lil terrified that thats supposed to be the rebbe- like its kinda a disgrace… but the other stuff is rly cool!
ps. stick to canvas:) itll make ppl happier…
I’m a painter and graphic artist…I say…WOW!
Keep up the
G R E A T W O R K !
it’s awful.! wake up guys. it doesnt look anything like the rebbe!
Love the spirit!!!
AWESOME….. Go Harav Danny and Bat7
very nice, but not on graffiti on the walls!!
These are awesome!
All due credit to the graffiti artist who made this, it is not b’kavod for the Rebbe (or R. Mordechai Eliyahu).
What’s more graffiti is not permanent, it is bound to be erased r”l.
Remember the Rebbe didn’t allow for a postage stamp of the Alter Rebbe.
I live in Los Angeles and I find the first picture completely offensive. These kids in Israel think they’re cool flashing gang signs, in my neighborhood people get KILLED for this. Having Jewish kids trying to be hip by emulating murderers is not funny and would be akin to showing a brown shirt salute.
this is awsome!!!!
