Perhaps for the first time, editors of the Igros Kodesh series of books featuring letters the Rebbe has written, are asking for the public’s assistance.
Published by Kehot Publication Society and prepared for print by the Library Of Agudas Chassidei Chabad, until now letters were never in short supply.
Those precious letters contained direction, guidance and blessings from the Rebbe to individuals and organizations, since the days when he assumed leadership of the Chabad-Lubavitch movement.
But many answers received from the Rebbe over the years have remained in private hands. Some have seen the light of day, printed by the owners as “Teshura” mementos at family weddings, Bar Mitzvahs and other simchas.
Rabbi Berel Levin and his staff at the Lubavitch Library in Brooklyn, New York, have reviewed in the last few months over 1,000 Teshuros that were printed in past years.
“We are now in the process of preparing for publication several new volumes of Igros of the Rebbe and the Frierdiker Rebbe,” Rabbi Levin, head librarian and editor of the project, told COLlive.com.
“These Teshuros are an important resource, and we would like to make sure we locate every Teshurah that contains any such letters,” he said. “We are thus asking all Anash and tmimim to help us all locate all letters of public interest (letters of blessings for births, Bar Mitzvahs and other life cycle events are not relevant here).”
Scanned copies of the letters or notes should be sent to [email protected].
The list of Teshuros they have already reviewed (and will be updated consistently) can be found at http://chabadlibrary.org/tshurot.pdf
keep it up!!!
