Rabbi Tuvia Hod-Hochwald, rabbi of the Jewish Community in Bad Kissingen, Germany, and a Kashrus expert in Europe, spoke at Chabad’s Yeshiva Gedola Berlin.
The visiting rabbi gave a class about “practical kashrus” to the talmidim-shluchim bochurim learning in the Beis Medrash and later spoke for bochurim of the Baal Teshuva department.
Speaking about kosher foods and ingredients, Rabbi Hod-Hochwald commented about the recent claim by a website that they have uncovered the secret formula of Coca-Cola soda.
He said that at some point he was involved in supervising a Coca Cola plant for kashrus. He confirmed that the “recipe” recently publicized was indeed bogus.
As the Coca-Cola Company has declared, “alcohol is not added as an ingredient and no fermentation takes place.”
Rabbi Uri Gamson is the Rosh Yeshiva Gedola Berlin. Rabbi Yehuda Tiechtel is Berlin’s Head Shliach.
To #3 I have done hashgacha for coke. I was there for the whole process incl
uding the bottling
Can someone in high authority please make public the case of whether COKE has a problem with kashrus or not. . . its an on going, never ending discussion, and we must have an answer
Since it is a cold filled product, it really doesn’t matter what they ran on the bottling machinery prior to the filling of Coke. They always wash out the machinery, as they themselves do not want any foul taste in the coke product. I hope this answers #3 clain.
Problems with coke come from the BOTTLING plants. No control, no mashgiach, no watch as to what is running prior or post!
If you want to drink something with unknown running through it, that ‘s your choice but at least make it conscience.

Looks like a Shtark Guy, good he is doing this to keep us in line with the right information!
