J. Crew, Zara Suits Have Shatnez
Men's wool suits from the winter line from Austin Reed, Brooks Brothers, J. Crew and Zara Man are said to contain shatnez. By R' Yosef Stolz - Lakewood Shatnez Laboratory
We are all aware that men’s wool suits require testing.
However sometimes consumers find themselves in a situation where they desperately need to wear their suit and cannot bring it into a shatnez Laboratory for testing.
Shatnez is the prohibition in halacha derived from the Torah that prohibits the wearing of a fabric containing both wool and linen.
We are therefore alerting the public that some jackets of the following brands were found to contain shatnez this past winter:
Austin Reed
Brooks Brothers
J. Crew
Zara Man

Be careful with Jos A Bank.
whatever it is u should spend the time to check afterall its an idur deoraisa
Should i get it checked out?
Where is a Crown Heights Shatnez Checker?
All you do is have someone take out the thread and felt and stitch a new one on. It may cost $30-50 to get it replaced, but if you're already spending $900 on a Brooks Brothers suit, it's not that much more.
But then again, I assume anyone who buys a new outfit will get it checked anyways.
then i was told by someone else that the "LABEL"itself is made from " LINEN " so the tag has to be removed carefully
And a follow-up article addressing the urgency of shatnez and other important details would be great.
