Your classmates are already pushing strollers, your bubbe is asking ‘how are you doing’ while meaning ‘what’s with a shidduch’, or you’re out of seminary or semicha and your parents want you to meet a Shaddchan and put together a resume.
Finding a match can be extremely frustrating and an eloquent teacher from Argentina is coming to Crown Heights to help singles with figuring it all out.
Rabbi Yehoshua Forma, learning program director of ISEJ: Superior Jewish Studies Institute in Buenos Aires, is being brought to Brooklyn by a shaddchanis who asked of COLlive.com to remain anonymous.
“He has lectured many young adults in the past and is known as for his very practical common sense and brilliant fashion in a very kind and non-condescending manner,” she told us.
Forma currently works with some 500 people in Argentina who are part of the ISEJ program. He is also a marriage counselor and holds sessions with teenagers at risk and gives shidduchim counseling.
“His message is very powerful and very much needed in our times,” she says.
“He spoke for the girls (who were extremely receptive) a short while back and was asked back by popular demand; hence this forum.”
Rabbi Forma will be speaking to single girls this Friday night at 9:30 PM and will be joined by his wife, a lecturer on Jewish psychology who also does counseling.
He will be addressing bochurim on Motzoei Shabbos at 8:45 PM.
Both lectures will be taking place at 1474 President Street. Both are free and there is no need to RSVP.

I heard Rabbi Forma speak and hes so straight forward and honest about the issues facing singles today.

What a pity that he is speaking on Friday night, I live out of town, infact not even in the U.S.A.! but would love to hear him. NOT everyone is able to live in Crown Heights….and not everyone wants to!! What a pity we missed out.
