Rav Braun is special. He is a wonderful tzaddik.
Rabbi Feldman supporeted him as he is happy to see Rav Braun leave.
Sydney will miss him.

To 205. The nasty comments are not from members of Crown Heights. They are from out of towners. (perhaps they pose as Crown Heighters. Comments are anonymous) The Crown Heighters elected Rabbi Braun and are very happy.

If i was to take the combined brain power of all the masses of morons who comment on this website, especially in regards to  the elections, it wouldnt come close to 1% of the amazing intelligence that makes Rabbi Braun who he is. He is a kind, caring, chasidisheh rov and someone who beleive it or not, did not cause any machlokes in sydney. He is a peace loving individual who does not label anyone, but rather loves and tollerates all jews equally. I have had the plesure of knowing Rabbi Braun for many years and have no doubt that… Read more »

September 7, 2010 12:17 am

So now it is clear that the community as a whole does support all of this nonsense from Mendy Hendel to the tzfatim and any body who make as if this is not supported by the community is in denial. We han an open and free election and the tzfatim won so I give up. I’ll be moving out pretty soon.

September 6, 2010 11:30 pm

C’mon people. You have the third rov, now MOVE ON!! Start rebuilding the shechunoh and make it a cohesive community that will be lesheim ulesiferess.
Enough is enough.!!
If Moshiach were to come and read some of the disparaging remarks here, he would be most embarrased. Everyone! have a Shonoh Toivoh begashmiyus uberuchniyus gam yachad!!

He sounds good, and he looks very bright.

NEW numbers
September 6, 2010 9:33 pm

Total voters: 1992

Rabbi Braun – 1004 – 51%
Rabbi Bogomilsky – 897 – 46%
Rabbi Chaviv – 64 – 3%

13 – Posel ballots
13 – challenged ballots
1 – ballot went missing

Rabbonim
September 6, 2010 6:35 pm

It behooves the Rabbonim and Shluchim who wrote eloquent support letters for Rabbi Bogomilsky to now write eloquent Mazal Tov letters supporting the winning Rov. Silence from these Rabbonim can be misinterpreted…and lead Ch’v to chaos

Please acquire a good understanding of Chassidus, before you go live with your ignorant preaching. Yes, Hashem knew that R’ Braun would win, but he gave THE CHOICE into the hands of the Anash of CH. So yes, for those of our Anash who feel that R’ Bogomilsky should have won, they have a legitimate complaint to those who voted for R’ Braun. This, sir, is the Alef Bais of Chassidus. P.S. If I choose to do an Aveira C”V, is that also “Hashem’s Ratzon”? After all, I wouldn’t do it if Hashem didn’t want me to! —– or would… Read more »

Kol Hakavod to Yosef Katzman #146
September 6, 2010 4:11 pm

For demonstrating respect and class for the electoral process. When you hope for one person to win and the other one does, you still have to respect the other one. That’s the idea of an election.

If you would have wanted your candidate to be respected, so should you respect to other candidate.

It is for the BEST of this Kehila for the Rabbonim to be respected, for the Beis Din to be strong and for the Machlokes to end.

September 6, 2010 4:04 pm

Who is going to pay the FULL TIME Rov’s salary? He has 11 children, right? He is suppose to be working full time for the Beis Din, right? He has to move and come here…I geuss S.B. Drizin will lay out the money, but do you think that will go on forever? Oh try taxing the Jewish residents of CH see where you go with that. With all the division and strife I don’t see much fund raising oppurtunities here. Bogomilsky would not have these problems.

September 6, 2010 3:19 pm

Did anyone forget that it is Hashem who controls everything? In the election process we follow Hashems command to us and his will, that we should choose our Rav, the way Hashem wants us to, via democratic elections. The result of the election however, is ONLY the results which Hashem wants. There is nothing that people can do, “even to vote someone in” unless it is G-d’s choice that this be the result of the election. G-d HIMSELF has chosen Rabbi Braun, to be the outcome of our election. Anyone who has an issue with the outcome of the election… Read more »

Why Celebrate the outcome of the Election?
September 6, 2010 2:36 pm

Is something wrong with this picture? No, absolutely not! Something is wrong with YOU if you see anything wrong, with celebrating, any winner, of any election. This was the most important election (the only LIFETIME election), for the most prestigious elected position of our entire community. The winer is not someone of “this team” nor of “that team”. The winner is, of ALL THE VOTERS united, who collectively (by majority vote), all jointly in a united effort to democratically chose their elected choice. No matter who the winner may be, the only reason anyone can possibly not rejoice is only… Read more »

Sydney
September 6, 2010 12:42 pm

As a former Sydney person (lived there most of my life) we will surely miss Rabbi Braun. He has done very good work with young couples and even more and better work with the youth. I am one of the youth that he has saved and if it were not for Rabbi Braun, I would have looked like many of the youth today in CH. People talk and have no idea what they are saying. If Rabbi Braun will continue working with teenagers and newly married couples, he will change the scene in CH. Furthermore, reading many of the above… Read more »

Democracy Won and Dictorship lost, This Election
September 6, 2010 11:44 am

Democracy won in C.H. on Sunday.

All the prior Baaley Machlokes have been issued Pink Slips, by the voting community.

Anyone have any new jobs for the new unemployed Baaley Machlokes, who are now out of business, since Democracy in the Badataz has now won over the team who favored single handed Dictatorship in the Badataz until now?

You have it backwards. The breakdown of the machlokes between the 2 Rabbonim was as follows: Rabbi Osdoba had unilateral power as a 1 man show, before Rabbi Schwei was elected and after the community elected Rabbi Schwei because they did not want a “1 man show” of Rabbi Osdoba ALONE – then Rabbi Osdoba REFUSED to be a Team Player and Rabbi Osdoba refused to POWER_SHARE with his fellow equal newly elected Rav. Rabbi Schwei was fighting for EQUAL POWER as Shulchan Aruch Demands and as the community mandated. Rabbi Osdoba was fighting to retain his unilateral power and… Read more »

Crown Height's Community
September 6, 2010 11:18 am

What a sad reflection of this community! Who votes in a guy who has been stuck in Sydney who has never sat on a Bais Din and who makes machlokes in whatever he gets involved in! Woe to this community that had a chance to begin to move forward and now will move into the Braun arena of Machlokes till the end!!! Shame on whoever is responsible for this result!!!!

Prediction
September 6, 2010 11:14 am

Rabbi Osdoba is not a team player. By nature, Rabbi Osdoba just can’t do it. It’s not Rabbi Osdoba’s fault. He just doesn’t have it within him to be a Team Player and to be BOTEL to a majority of the Badatz. He will likely quit the Beis Din like a sore looser. Since Bogomilsky heads the Vaad RA-BONEY Lubavitch, I am sure he can find some clerical job for his ruining mate, who lost his unilateral control of his CHK now and he also lost his “badatz” dictatorship now. No more “one man show” in the Badataz. Until now… Read more »

excuse me, i naively thought it was election for the rov, not a political issue. are you saying that rabbonim are influenced by political considerations and not by daas torah? what kind of message are these comments sending to young people? what a cinical group of people! the rav was elected by the majority and from now on he must be respected. all the problems of young people start with disrespect for authority. stop loshon horah, it’s erev rosh hashana. a gut yor to all yidden, may it bring peace.

How could you Rabbi Schwei be against Rabbi Osdoba? is this the respect a Rov voted it by the kohol years ago, without any questions… brochos from the rebbe, etc. etc. etc… and yet, shcwei is against him… and yet people voted in support of that.????? is this what this is all about. what a grob yung!

Negative campaigns
September 6, 2010 9:04 am

The only thing that really makes me wonder about our community is we talk about assimilation of how our children are becoming more and more like the goyim. But the issue is that they learn from their parents. How can a Rav who is suppose to go and paskin items for the community when he runs shmear campaigns. Is that not a form of Loshon Hara? Question
September 6, 2010 8:56 am

The CH community should follow the example of many other kreizin who split when it became apparent that they will not be able to coexist. There are two satmars? For all intents and purposes there are two Lubavitch’s. Let a new community emerge that rejects the messianic cult, appointing their own Rabbonim, and then each will follow his authority. There is simply no way that 46% of CH that voted for R’ Bogomilsky will be subjected to the ideological leanings of the meshichistin.

a sad day for lubavitch
September 6, 2010 4:04 am

just when we think things are getting better & moshiach is almost here, we see more darkness
CH just elected a rov who:
1. has no smicha
2. never sat in a beis din
3. has limited experience of rabbonus
4. involved in a fight with the Rebbe’s shluchim in sydney
5. will continue to fight the Rebbe’s mosdos, Merkaz & Aguch
6. will support terror and other activities in 770

and did someone say that this was a good decision?

respect
September 6, 2010 3:08 am

a little introspection please
did anyone ever think that the inability to respect a rav,
comes from the inability to respect oneself.
yes.
that is the issue.
you dont have to think too hard to get it.
just pause for a moment and tune in.
find a place within that you respect.
probably there somewhere,
keep digging to you find it.
now you are in a spiritual place
and you find think before posting insulting comments that have no value.

Beis Din Power...
September 6, 2010 3:02 am

There is one very important thing that NOBODY seems to be realizing here. But the Beis Din (all 3 rabbonim) BETTER realize that: The whole “Power” that this Beis Din has, is the power that WE GIVE them. this Beis Din has no “Legal” or “Official” power. the ONLY power they have is the power of respect and honor that WE GIVE THEM. beyond that they are POWERLESS! they cannot legally force ANYBODY to do ANYTHING. the only “Power” that they have is the power of honor that we give them. Having said that, this Beis Din (all 3 Rabbonim)… Read more »

We’re celebrating the accomplishment of the mission we set out on 1 1/2 years ago–the first unilateral elections to the va’ad and the din torah: to reestablish a functioning beis din and kehilla that the Rebbe can be proud of. September 6, 2010 2:00 am

the pictures of an after party are utterly disgraceful, you elected a rov not a quarterback for a superbowl, ochen vei if the so called leaders of our community behave like these then why do you except anything different from the youth tell Rabbi Broin to start his youth campaign with the children at heart i.e – the people in the pictures here

no more igros
September 6, 2010 2:00 am

In an interview some time ago Rav Braun said that one can not use igros for advice only a blessing. Also he said that 770 should be comfortable for everyone to enter. Alternating Shabbos prayers every other Shabbos for each group seems the way to go in 770.

Predictiom
September 6, 2010 1:52 am

Within a few days (maybe weeks) Rabbi Osdoba will come out with a detailed and documented psak, showing all the lies that were presented by Broin. He will produce a paper chain that follows the money. The psak will be that he cannot sit on the same seat of dayanus as a shakran and a meshuchad. It would have been more difficult for Rabbi Schwei to take such a stand, had Bogomilski won, but that is history. And history is not always nice. (Zechor al Tishkach churban shel Amalek shebedoreinu.) Just because it happens does not mean it is good.… Read more »

Rabbi Braun needs to ask Mechila
September 6, 2010 1:42 am

If Rabbi Braun is serious about healing the community etc, the first thing he has to do is ask Mechila from Rabbi Bogomilsky. The disgraceful way Rabbi Braun’s campaign acted, trashing Rabbi Bogomilsky, spreading malicious lies about him accusing him of being responsible for Rabbi Marlows death etc…was disgusting, Rabbi Braun didn’t put a stop to it during the election, he should at least now apologize for it and then perhaps we can all move on.

Todays Election was a real REFRENDUM - Rabbi O. vs Rabbi S.
September 6, 2010 1:35 am

Many people had mentioned in the comments here, why should we vote in a 3d rov before the 2 make sholom first. Similarly others asked that since the 2 can’t make sholom, then why not make a vote to see whom the community wants now, Rabbi O or Rabbi S and so we should have the 2 conflicting Rabbonim on the Ballot and let the community decide whom they want. I have news for you: Todays Vote actually was a Referendum for the community to decide if they want to Choose Rabbi Schwei over Rabbi Osdoba. It was like a… Read more »

September 6, 2010 1:33 am

First of all, it was not the “(40 yungeleit) who put him in”, rather it was more than half of the votes(almost 1000)!

Secondly, I find it highly laughable to predict that those 40 yungeleit will go on shlichus the next year or so(though I wish them heartfelt success). Anyone familiar with shlichus seeking will confirm that nowadays shlichus is almost impossible statistically to obtain due to the supply/demand model(20-30 positions for hundreds of yungeleit)
