I wish the results will help our community, BUT it’s about time we give women the vote, it’s unbelievable how backwards we are in that respect.

Why Pink Paper?
September 5, 2010 10:27 pm

You didnt even let women vote….

Hope Braun wins but not holding my breath.
September 5, 2010 10:25 pm

I’m supporting Braun but I’m not overly optimistic.
If he does end up winning that’ll be hugh.
considering that all the “mainstream” websites were campaigning for Bogomilsky, if Braun does win in spite of that it’ll really say a lot…

Since women have many Sheilos and deal with Rabonim, they should be able to vote!!

Why can you discriminate? Why is R’ Bogomilsky campaigning office allowed to call every home every single hour and R’ Braun’s is not! I got literly 9 phone calls today reminding me to vote from R’ Bogomilsky campaigning office, but when u get 1 call from R’ Brauns u are disgusted!???
And just for your info, it is not R’ Braun nor Hendel doing it, its a supporter of R’ Braun – just like supporters of Bogomilsky are calling every home nonstop today… so think before you spew hateful comments without knowing if it’s true!!!

We want Borocha to come to CH
September 5, 2010 8:08 pm

How can Rabbi Braun become Rov?

We know that the Rebbe didn’t allow one who is already a Rov of a community in another state or country to leave that community and come to CH to become Rov?

That’s what happened when Rabbi Label Shapiro was selected as a candidate and when Rabbi Chanzin from Israel was elected as Rov by the first Badt”z elections, the Rebbe said no.

Why is Rabbi Braun different?

We want Borocha to come to CH, how can it come by doing opposite of the Rebbe’s directives?

It is interesting to note that you must be listed in the tzach list to vote. but what is even more interesting is that one of the runners for rav is not only not part of the community let alone listed in the tzach list, what a farce.

i support rabbi yossi marlow
September 5, 2010 7:30 pm

I as a north miami beach resident believe it is well within his right and his obligation to anash to explain what moshe bogomislki tried to do to his father . rabbi osdoba should be ashamed of his letter as there is only one reason why he is supporting bogomilski and that is fear. Its not out of any sense of purity. i am not a fan of any candidate and believe we as lubavitchers can do much better then these choices. what a shame it is that lubavitch today has the best and brightest running away from any position… Read more »

Voting is a private issue! No one but, No one can tell anyone who to vote for. This is what is so special about voting you can choose who you think will be the best under these circumstances and then no one can harras you, it is a private thing. You don’t need to answer to anyone who you are voting for and why. You go vote and remember we can only vote for 1 out of 3. Hashem is the one running the world and whoever Hashem wants chosen that is who it will be. There is a reason… Read more »

Someone who did not vote
September 5, 2010 6:55 pm

As someone who voted in both of the last election and runoff, I must say I was so turned off by this process. We were not told officially of the candidates till barely 2 weeks ago and we’re supposed to be voting for life?? At least we had a month for Vaad and thats only for 3 years. As an average guy with no baggage or big family aligeiences I know zero about these Rabanim. I’m married 32 years old and have never felt less connected to a process in this community. Why is Chaviv Running?
September 5, 2010 6:36 pm

Chaviv is a very smart person and is certainly no fool. Why then, would anyone want to run, if he doesn’t even know the language, has absolutely no support nor endorsements in C.H.? Rabbi Chaviv knows himself, very well, that he has absolutely no chance at all of winning. So why is he wasting his time and money and our time and taking away votes from both candidates? The answer is because it will look good on his resume in Israel, when he is looking for a job he can show that he is “so good” he was even considered… Read more »

I have just received a call from a so called ‘Rabbi Braun’s campaign office’ to ‘remind’ me to vote. Since when did rabbonus stoop down to establishing a campaign office? Feh! I hope it’s only Hendel’s cohorts coordinating this and not Rabbi Braun, for if it is with his approval, and he wins, we’re in for a rocky half a century of hell, r”l.

funny how you put it that Rabbi O is nogeia b’dovor and Rabbi Y.M. is not a nogeiah b’dovor. tell me, why could Rabbi O have the right to pick Rabbi Bogomilsky, but doesn’t have the right to defend his choice? Do you make any sense at all?! and yet you say even a ben chomeish lemikra will understand your point. And yet to quote a posuk in chumash against Rabbi O for defending his choice… and at the same time you state that you support him.. . you make absolutely no sense at all. in fact, it’s quite chutzpadik… Read more »

Do just a little research (even just look at the 2 interviews that were put out by the respective candidates), and you will see that one of the candidates is very interested in himself (and EVERYONE HAS ALWAYS KNOWN many bad things unfortunately that he did in the past that he hasn’t even bothered to try to dispute) ; Whereas the the other candidate has had no bad past track record. There are many things said about him ONLY RECENTLY that has NOT BEEN PROVEN (and this candidate DOES dispute these claims in his interview and welcomes you to call… Read more »

A PERSONAL STORY WITH RABBI BOGOMILSKY LAST YEAR
September 5, 2010 6:04 pm

I am just conveying a story that happened with Rabbi Bogomilsky and myself. It speaks for itself: I was visting Crown Heights with my family and we ordered a fleishige supper by cc and free delivery (on the phone) from a very prominent restaurant in Crown Heights (name not necessary). It was delivered by a non Jewish worker in a sealed bag with no name on it. Knowing the halocho that unknown meat “bossor shenisalem min haayin” is questionable. I called the restaurant and asked for the mashgiach who assured me that the supper parcel was from HIS restaurant and… Read more »

and completely unrelated…. i feel the age of 30 for unmarried men to vote is too harsh to the poor guy who is 28, has been living in CH for years in his own apt and plans to continue living there… Imagine his humiliation when his younger pisher brother who got married at age 22 and has been living in CH as a married man for one year gets to vote, while he does not.. What does TORAH say - When a Rav is Nogea Bedavar (Biaased or has Vested Interests)?
September 5, 2010 4:16 pm

Torah says that no one is above the Law. Torah says that although we must respect our Rabbi’s, nevertheless Torah says that if this “highly respected rabbi” is a Nogeah Bedavar, then everything he says about THAT ISSUE, is NULL and VOID. Is there anyone naive enough to think that when Rabbi Osdoba wrote a letter against Rabbi Marlow’s son, does anyone think that Rabbi Osdoba had no vested interest to defend his hand picked choice-rabbi? We all respect Rabbi Osdoba, me included. But the Rebbe says and the Torah says that the moment someone is a Nogeah Bedavar, then… Read more »

Even though I respect Rabbi Brown and Rabbi Chaviv, I don’t believe they have the experience and age to improve and fix the current problem that faces the CH Beis Din. Perhaps down the line, once we’ll have a proper functioning Bais Din, it will be nice to get a young Rov with new ideas and energy. The travesty of justice perpetrated by this forced election will be felt by us for generations. What is the rush for elections-does anyone think that any third Rov will resolve the animosity and differences between the other two Rabbonim ? Has Rabbi Rosenberg’s edicts supplanted the numerous directives of the Rebbe in regards to elections. If one would follow the letter of the law of the Rebbe’s directives, Rabbi Bogomilsky would not be a viable candidate, inference from outsiders (Shluchim, outside Rabbonim, and others ) would not be allowed, and a process would have been put in place that would… Read more »
