Mom, Daughter Run Camp

Devora Caytak, a mother of 12, has been running the summer Camp Gan Israel of Ottawa for close to 20 years as its director.

But this year, with an overflowing registration of campers, Caytak admits that the camp’s success is due to the dedicated group of counselors.

And these Lubavitch girls were hand-picked from around the world – Costa Rica, Los Angeles, Wisconsin, Winnipeg, Florida and Ottawa.

And guess who the head counselor is – Chaya Mushka Caytak, one of Devora’s daughters.

The mom-and-daughter team seems to work quite well. The camp has specialists come every day to enhance a day of spirit, singing, davening and learning.

Their activities include Israeli dancing, pottery, tennis and other sports, baking, scrapbooking and more.

The Caytaks don’t forget to give credit to Rabbi Dovid Hayes, Head Shliach of Ottawa, for his support and guidance.
