While The Jerusalem Post didn’t bother to mention Chabad in their list of ‘World’s 50 Most Influential Jews,’ Newsweek gave Lubavitch the most prominent position of all.
The U.S. weekly’s 2010 list of “The 50 Most Influential Rabbis in America” named Rabbi Yehuda Krinsky as No. 1. In 2009, he was ranked No. 4.
In the list, Michael Lynton and Gary Ginsberg write about Krinsky: “As the leader of the Chabad-Lubavitch movement, Krinsky is the contemporary face of the Hasidic branch.”
Krinsky, 76, is Chairman of Merkos L’Inyonei Chinuch, and Machne Israel, the movement’s educational and social services-arms, and secretary of the umbrella organization Agudas Chasidei Chabad, and director of the Kehot Publication Society.
For 40 years, he served as a secretary for the Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson, and spokeman for the movment.

Chazak Chazak – very impressing, he should go Meichayil El Choyil, and its unbelievable how he’s not into himself, he’s there just for the Rebbe.
Thank you Rabbi Krinsky
Your wisdom and insight is awesome.
This is not about krinsky this is about the amazing chabad influence in the world
wouldn’t that be the rebbe?!
this makes me proud as a lubavitcher to see the ceo of merkoz as the number 1 rabbi!
to 17 who is worried about rabbi kotlarsky: please look at it as an achievement of LUBAVITCH, not a personal achievement of rabbi krinsky, coz that is how rabbi krinsky would feel too!
I think we should compile a list of all the people in Lubavitch that think they belong there.
BH
Ones again zalman your hard work is paying off, far place from those days in the E.P. dorm when u would visit us while learning in Morristown.
He IS the shliach….. if they want to think of him as the “chabad leader” … good! Its a big kidush Hashem!!
Unfortunately we just canceled our subscription to newsweek as they have been writing such anti israel propaganda.
This is an incredible Kiddush Lubavitch. This is much less about Rabbi Krinsky per se than the movement and ideology that he represents. He is the face of Lubavitch and Lubavitch won first place. That’s all there is to it. Just be proud!
May Hashem grant Rabbi Krinsky and his mishpacha long life, hatzlacha, and nachas. Rabbi Krinsky works just as hard for the Rebbe today as he ever did! Yasher koyach and thank you!
Number nine knows the truth!
“As the leader of the Chabad-Lubavitch movement…”
The Rebbe is and will forever be “the leader of the Chabad Lubavitch movement”.
With all due respect to krinski, as representing Lubavitch, and heading the Mosdos etc., it is the Rebbe who is, and will always be the leader of the Chabad-Lubavitch movement.
(but then again, it wasn’t Krinsky who wrote that…)
He does all the real work that make things happen….ask people on the inside of these organizations and they will lte you in the the secret of Lubavitch’s workhorse with more achievements than one can imagine
the choice of rabbi krinsky only proves your point ,as rabbi krinsky represents all shluchim ,who all represent the rebbe, and with achdus the rebbe remains at the top.
Rebbi Krinsky is a man the Rebbe truly trusted. The Rebbe entrusted him with his most precious and foundational Mosdos of Lubavtich.
I’m sure The Rebbe is proud of him!
Well said, but who though otherwise? We live in a world of gashmius. Newsweek needed a face (they wouldn’t use the Rebbe’s. for obvious reasons), so thewy chose the chasid who was closer to the Rebbe than most chasidim. But the kavana is the rebbe and his shluchim. WHo is the “face” of Lubavitch–well it’s Rabbi Krinsky. Don’t forget that even when the Rebbe was with us (in a guf gashmi), Rabbi Krinsky spoke to the world for Lubavitch. He was the spokesman to the media and to the world, and the Rebbe’s message was often brodacast to the world… Read more »
A true Kiddush Lubavitch to the whole Jewish world.
I am sure this is a great Nachs to our Rebbe.
Not that this is our way to measure our success but the Reebe would always point out how something is fully true when even the Goyshe velt recognize it!
Keep up the good work Shluchim!
and Shmully Boteach is # 6 🙁
Rabbi Krinsky truly deserves it, he is only one who the Rebbe trusted with his 3 most important Mosidos
we have only one leader in chabad and thats the rebbe
Rabbi Krinsky tzu leinge gezunte yoren, is someone who trully cares for the Rebbe’s kovod and his shluchim, he shuns himself from the spotlight and is the driving force behind the scenes, it is Rabbi Krinskys accomplishments that earn him this title, may hashem grant many happy and healthy years so that he can continue in the special shlichus which the Rebbe entrusted specifically to him
– a shliach
Rabbi Krinsky quietly working behind the scenes without making a big deal about it. Mazal to Time for getting it right.
Rabbi krinsky is definitely the right man to represent lubavitch on such a list. I cant think of any other lubavitcher who could be on that list, and yet when you see him you feel hes there representing the koach of the Rebbe and lubavitch!
All shluchim are deeply indebted to Rabbi Krinsky’s vision, leadership and fortitude in executing the Rebbe’s master plan of reaching out to every single Jew in the world regardless of affiliation.
Now I need to cancel my subscription to the JP and sign up for Newsweek. Can’t we get any consistency in our desperate need for PR spin, so that I can just stay a subscriber to the same papers? 🙂
This is a great honor for the world of Lubavitch, the shluchim and the Rebbe. Finally mainstream media (as the Rebbe said Moshiach in dee gazzetten) reccognizes Chabad Lubavitch as number one and the Reform movement as number two.
Mazal tov!
This is good for Lubavitch and thus good for the Jews.
thank you R Krinsky
