Chabad Shluchim in South Florida are planning a grand joint Jewish parade in honor of Lag BaOmer, the yahrzeit of the great Kabbalist Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai, author of the Zohar.
“It will be an event of unity for all the Jewish communities of South Florida,” one of the organizers told COLlive.com.
Many Chabad Houses, Schools, synagogues, and organizations are participating in the parade by making floats, signs and marching bands.
The Parade will start at Chabad of Hallendale where a rally will be held.
After the rally the parade will march in the streets to Gulfstream Park, where over 50 Carnival rides and games will be set up along with a kosher BBQ, bonfire and a concert with Israeli music stars Gad Elbaz and Yossi Bayles.
The committee for this event is Rabbi Pinny Andrusier, Rabbi Shmully Gutnick, Rabbi Mendy Levy, Rabbi Mordy Feiner, Rabbi Zalman Korf, Yankee Pearson and Mendy Ajzenshmidt.

As it says clearly in the flyer, the event is taking place in the ORANGE PARKING LOT of Gulfstream which is a huge open area north of where the concert is normally held in the main building.
every year i went with my family to the gulf stream to watch avraham fried but now its gad elbaz? i mean if it probly cosy more to bring gad then avram. and how in the world r they gaonna fit a carnival in gulfstream, theres no place to put the rides, theres hardly place for a singer to sing and for ppl to sit!
