For My Brother, Sholom Mordechai

Our hearts are filled with overwhelming emotion as we see thousands of our devoted Shluchim from the four corners of the world coming together for the Kinus Hashluchim. The kinus marks the time when our manhig, the Moshe of our generation, our Rebbe, was able to return home.

Rebbe, I’m writing concerning my brother, a shliach who is uniting Klal Yisroel through his challenging nisyonos. Our Rabbaim teach us “A Yid is fire” and every “Yiddishe fire” imbues its surrounding with additional warmth. My brother’s “Aish” which is Rashei Teivos for Emunah and Simcha is igniting and fueling Klal Yisroel’s fire in the most beautiful and inspiring way. The nature of fire is to rise upwards. My brother’s emunah and simcha are truly uplifting – through his response to his nisyonos, through bitichon, he has mobilized Klal Yisroel to unite. He is a constant reminder: “A Yid is higher than nature”!..

This week’s parsha, Parshas Toldos, teaches us about the holy avodah of Yitzchak Avinu. Yitzchak Avinu dug wells; my brother is digging deep into the kochos of Klal Yisroel and revealing their Yiddishe treasures – Ahavas Hashem, Ahavas Hatorah and Ahavas Yisroel – which are all causing an unprecedented Achdus Yisroel.

Women around the world are requested to join in a day of tefillah (prayer) in a grassroots effort to bring the immediate and long overdue Geula (redemption) of Sholom Mordechai Rubashkin through the power of united Tehillim (Psalms).

All women are asked to take part in reciting at least one sefer (book) of Tehillim this coming Shabbos- Parashas Toldos – Shabbos Mevorchim Kislev.
