Rabbi Moishe New, Director of the Montreal Torah Center (MTC), will be the keynote speaker at this year’s International Kinus Hashluchim, COLlive has learned.
The keynote address at the gala banquet in New York concludes the annual emissary convention, and is considered the most desired internal speaking venue for a Chabad outreach Shliach.
Each year a committee of Shluchim, nominated to plan the Kinus, narrows down the candidates to two and holds a vote.
New and his wife Nechama direct the Montreal Torah Center, along with Rabbi Itchy and Zeldy Treitel, a community center which attracts growing numbers of Jews of all ages and backgrounds.
Although beginning in 1991 as an adult education facility, the center soon blossomed into a small-scale community center, and a new $8 million facility was built in 2004.
Have built an amazing community–honestly the Rabbis of the MTC are sincere, caring people who are carrying out the Rebbe’s vision. Thank you rabbis of the MTC for everything you’ve given me and continue going from strength to strength!
