The Chase Community Giving Advisory Board announced Thursday a final list of 17 additional small and local charities to share a portion of more than $500,000 in grants, receiving $30,000 each.
One of them is Chabad’s Friendship Circle chapter in Redondo Beach, California, directed by Shliach Rabbi Yossi Mintz.
The Advisory Board met in September to determine additional recipients beyond the ones that won the most votes in this past summer’s contest on Facebook.
Explaining their decision to award the Friendship Circle, the board wrote that it “addresses the challenges for families of children with special needs by pairing up teenagers with the children for a full range of programs.”
