CH Cycles, a bicycle and fitness awareness group run by Yoske Strasberg of the Crown Heights Bike Shop, is holding a bike race this Sunday at Prospect Park.
The race for adult men and teenagers will begin at 10:00 AM. Riders are advised to be the starting point at least 20 minutes before (suggested meeting at 9:30AM).
There will be 2 categories, Strasberg says: Category A will start at 10:00 and will do 4 loops around the park. Category B will start at 10:15 and do 2 loops around the park.
CH Cycle will reward a $50 gift certificate to the winners of each category, $25 gift certificates to the runners up and a Polar bear water bottle to the 3rd place winners.
In addition all finishers will receive a complimentary gift.
“Aside from having a great time, this should be the beginning of many group rides and races,” Strasberg says. “We have a lot of good riders in the CH and this is a great way to meet and ride.”
Registration in person is required to be able to participate and can be done at 537 Empire Blvd (next to Empire Kosher).
The cost is $5.00, a portion of which will go to Tzedokah.
Registration hours are:
12:00 PM to 8:00 PM Tue ? Thursday
12:00 PM to 3:00 PM Friday
8:00 PM to 10:00 PM Sat Night

My son was 7 yrs old when he rode down Brroklyn Avenue without wearing a helmet and fell off his bicycle on top of a mound of pebbles. A nice yungerman stopped his car and helped him to his feet and brought him back home. To this day I don’t know… Read more »
