Hundreds of people joined Chabad of the Five Towns’ Simchat Beit Hashoeva celebration in Cedarhurst Park on September 26 for a joyous Sukkot experience.
Men, women and children enjoyed dancing to the exciting music provided by Azamra DJ. Wide eyed children and adults were fascinated by the dangerous fire baton stunts performed by the Amazing Modern Gypsies, and were intrigued as the performer became “Bubble Boy”.
The Sukkah mobiles, portable Sukkahs perched atop a pick-up truck, greeted hundreds of residents throughout the Five Towns. Yeshiva students volunteered as hosts to the many people who visited the Sukkah. The students explained how to use the Lulav and Etrog, the palm branch and citrus fruit that are shaken after reciting a blessing on Sukkot. The Sukkah mobile provided an opportunity to grab a bite to eat and to say the Leishev Basuka blessing. This Sukkah on wheels visited the homebound and elderly. Many people had the opportunity to bench Lulav and Esrog, some for the first time in their lives.
A special thanks to the Village of Cedarhurst, the Auxiliary Police, Azamra DJ, all of our Chabad supporters and volunteers who helped make this 16th annual celebration a phenomenal success.
