If you are bringing an example of how people behaved in previous generations then you might as well also add what the Alter Rebbe says about the previous generations that they were like Malochim, so there is no compering between us and them. the din of hesech hadaas does not forbid talking with tefillin on – tefillin used to be worn the whole day!

I’m might be limited in knowledge, but judging by your response to my comment it seems that you are not much more knowledgeable either that gives me the opportunity to assume that under comment #17 hides a woman too. Because WE women are not familiar with the laws of Tefillin, I’ll try to present that what I still learnt in school.
