I read and it is absolutely fascinating!!! It it not meant to be a real recounting of the history; it is rather Steinberg’s novel (double entendre) spin on the story of Elisha. One of my favorite books. The exchanges, especially toward the end is priceless.
Love the course and the lecturer. Constructive criticism: Please stop with the constant whispering – it is getting hard to participate – it is useful for stressing a particular concept – but not everything is worthy of the raspy whisper delivery which you seem to love so much. At least to me it is irking. Gd bless.

It is improper to say that Elisha ben Avuyah is the greatest apikoros in history for he is the only real apikoros that ever stood. True there have been many in the past that have said they were apikorsim yet they did not visit פרדס as Elisha Ben Avuyah did
if you would know more about his life, i think you would reconsider. for example, he had Romans force Jews to desecrate Shabbos, he has Jews killed, etc.
