But according to halacha that is also forbidden, it is putting yourself in danger, and “we don’t rely on miracles.” so what was the heter for it?

suicide?

maybe it was a “horas saah” given by the Ramban, that in his case he needed to delete himself from the planet. so only in his case it was permissible. but the question is, how can the Rambam give such a horaas shah based on a hint in a pasuk, when it runs contrary to the halacha that suicide is forbidden?

was it not suicide what Reb Avner did? he basically killed himself. How is that permissible in Jewish law? please clarify. it was a beautiful class, thank you COL, but this point remains mysterious to me.
I once heard that the Rebbe questioned the story of Reb Amnon for telling the monarch to cut his tounge which is against halachs. is that the case? i think the story is quoted in Or Zarua, so how can that be questioned?
please reply.

amazing!
