Palestinian terrorists opened fire on an Israeli car in the West Bank and killed 4 Jewish passengers on the eve of a new round of Middle East peace talks in Washington.
The Islamic terror group Hamas, which is posing as a legitimate democratically elected party, claimed responsibility. About 3,000 people joined a rally in Gaza to celebrate the attack.
Assailants firing from a passing car riddled the white Subaru station wagon with bullets as it traveled near Chevron, killing 2 men and 2 women (one of them pregnant), said police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld.
The attackers fled and IDF army forces set up roadblocks and carried out searches to try to catch them.
In a conversation with COLlive after the attack, Rabbi Yossi Nachshon of Chabad in Kiryat Arba – Hebron said he was meant to be at the intersection at the time of the shooting.
“Every evening during the month of Elul we have teams of Chabad people who go and check mezuzos as customary,” he said.
1000 mezuzas were already checked – many non kosher, he reported.
“Today, I was going to head to the settlement of Ma’ale Hever,” Nachshon said, “but a person who gave us his Mezuzah stopped me in Kiryat Arba to discuss some details.”
He later got onto the highway and saw police and dozens of rescue and emergency teams.
Nachshon said that in merit of his miracle and to commemorate the lives of those who were murdered Chabad will increase the Mezuzah and Teffilim checking efforts.
everyone should realize that all that is happening in the world is for our sins!! R. sholom mordechai in jail and all the bombs in eretz yisroel and so much more is because of us we are all 1 body. hashem chooses there neshama to suffer 4 us…. get it? so i think instead of asking queshtoins and finding fault in others u should work on yourself so other ppl should not have to suffer and when hashem sees that thats when mashiach can come!!!!!!
Overthrow the Israeli govt.
then i assume that you did not hear of the great miracle that happened 1.5 years ago in india when the slain holzberg couple’s baby moshe was saved?
DOESN’T ANYONE REALIZE WHAT IS HAPPENING HERE? EVERY TIME THE ISRAELI GOVERNMENT DECIDES TO TALK ABOUT MAKING CONCESSIONS FOR (SUPPOSEDLY) PEACE HASHEM SENDS THESE MAMZEIRIM TO SHOW THEM HOW WRONG THEY ARE!
I don’t understand how this is a personal mirarcle. Hundreds of people drive Route 60 south of Hevron about this time of day. They all experienced a personal miracle yesterday? I have a friend who drove that road the day before yesterday. Does that count too? A couple weeks ago there was a very bad train crash just south of Kiryat Gat. Two days before I had gone over that crossing. Does that mean I should bench gomel and/or start checking mezzuzos?
first he was gonna be in the car, now he would have been in the intersection?
the Rebbe watches out for his shluchim: especially while they are in middle of doing they’re shluchim…..
yes of course if 4 Jews died: may it be al kidush hashem: but i think they are trying to make a point…
how many of us would go live in chevron?
and he lived there through it all in the most dangerous moments, you don’t have to teach him how to “feel” for people!
trust me, he is crying together with those families!
moshiach now!
completely agree with u
do u understand the word timing?did u see that everyone acknowledges a miracle but maybe at a later date- a poor zaka man got to the scene and recognized that it was his own wife!!obviously you do not get the horrific event. If you did, you would understand whether he celebrated or not, the focus is on the deceased at this time.No one is questioning and if we are, so what? People are allowed to think and feel. Not just you!
please DONT argue at a time like this!
we NEED Moshiach now!!!!!!
the fact that they were dancing in the streets proves that Hamas was democratically elected, when will people realize that the sooner they recognize that the easier it is for israel there are no innocents in Gaza, they ALL voted for Hamas, and if their democratically elected government wants war then that what we should give them, there will be no collateral damage because their votes made them a part of hamas
I totally agree with #9!!!
ignore themS, they’re the type who always has to find something wrong
Whoever said the shliach was celebrating or jejoicing?!?!? Did you see any of those words in the article?
To the contrary, its says that the shliach promised to do more mitzvos in memory of those who were killed al kidush hashem!
But even if he was indeed “celebrating,” is it wrong to be happy to be alive? that fact that 4 yidden were killed is very sad and hurting. The does not mean a miracle could not happen to another yid.
We anyways don’t know hashem’s ways so why are you questioning…
we all have to add in mitzvos.
I just emailed some interesting Torah emails to peopel who aren’t frum, and i am hoping to find ways to do ahavas yisroel tomorrow when I can find the opportunities to do it. May HaShem avenge these kedoshim’s blood and nechama for the relatives and friends and all of us.
we’re all ONE body, we lost part of US
I agree. The timing is just not right. While everyone is happy no one else got murdered, it is not time to talk about divine providence when a 9 month preg, woman got murdered and left 6 children. #4 it seems you are a child in class, but maybe you need to learn that all Jews suffer at an atrocity like this and even tho it is great that someone’s life was spared (BH’),there is still too much pain. Not a time to rejoice.Think how the families must feel when they hear this. It’s like a soldier returns and there is celebration but… Read more »
This is such shocking, terrible news of 4 innocent Jews getting killed. Pls don’t combine it with a ‘miracle’ story. It just doesn’t do justice
That’s amazing We were just talking about Hashgacha Protis today in class!!!
this should be the last attack!
is this what all these peace talks are for?
I find it quite insensitive to talk about this miracle though it was at a time when 4 proplr were murdered.
