The young Lubavitch couple that came to Israel’s national Ben Gurion airport Sunday with their daughter were not the first or the last to embark on the lifetime mission of Shlichus.
But they certainly are the first to officially occupy the post of the slain never-to-be forgotten Shluchim Rabbi Gabi and Rivky Holtzberg HY”D, murdered in the Mumbai terror attacks.
Rabbi Chanoch Gechtman, who helped the Holtzbergs run the Chabad House in Mumbai, is heading back to India to continue their legacy as the new official shluchim, as COLlive exclusively reported.
“We are filling large shoes,” his wife Leiky Gechtman told Israel’s Channel 2 TV.
Their parents, siblings and friends waved and hugged them, wishing them success and the best of luck.
“We’re going on Shlichus until the coming of Moshiach,” Rabbi Gechtman, 25, said.

I’m also in tears, tears of awe, of amazement, of pride……..What can I do to use them as an inspiration? My answer, is to keep soul searching to try and realize daily what my own shlichus is where I am, and do it with a full heart, to the best of my ability. I am in awe of this couple . Of thier mesiras nefesh to embark on this mission b’simcha as can be seen on their faces. And of their total belief in Moshiach’s coming very soon as the shliach said “till Moshiach comes” .I , living here in C.H. feel so inadequate and so humbled by them .That our Rebbe has raised such Shluchim/. B’korov mamesh they will surely walk side by side with our Rebbe at higlalus Moshiach. They deserve no less. Thank you for making Chabad proud and allowing me to even share this title with you

As of now there is a temporary Chabad House, but it is in secret location, the plans of building Nariman House have not yet been finalised. SO they will be starting off in the new Chabad House, which has been in use by Merkos Shluchim until now.

please collive keep us updated with the rebuilding of nariman house, so that we all know that we are chabad, (Like in russia, chessidim kept the flame going bigger and grater). P.s. Why Museum, Why not Chabad house? (It’s halocha not to close a shul, how much more so a chabad house that the holtzberg’s put their lives into it, and their blood their). And as rabbi kotlarsky said on the tragic levya, “we will build the their (Nariman House) the biggest chabad house in the world (Donated by Mr. Roher) And it will be called on the holtzberg’s name.
